Hey Jack, good to have you here on the forum. Consider this a big 'ole Welcome and hope you stick around and post your progress on Suboxone.

Tell us more about how much of what drug you were taking before being put on Suboxone. 8mg's may not be enough to kill the cravings completely. Plus, it takes the body a few days or more to adjust to being on it so be patient, it will work out once you and your doctor get the dosage right.

So do tell, what's your story?

Hey rule! Happy 4th... Thanks for responding. I just cut a 8 in half early hoping it will give some bump. Doc. said I could/should do dat if? we shall see! Started Lortabs in 86 for a tore up back. Rocked along for a couple years and my tendons started developing tears every where. Couple surgerys ect.... they loaded me up on groovers (oxy's here in Bama)
Abused them for 5 yrs. up til 2 years ago and a girlfriend talked me into injecting her Dilaudid. Never looked back! She was a nurse, so I thunked it was A-OK...NOT! I stopprd 4 days ago with a 2 grand monthly golden arm. Whats left of it anyway. I will not marry that girl! I need this suboxone to be my peace on earth. Dats my story and Im sticking to it.... jack 8)

Welcome jack,

8 mg just may be too little but give yourself some Time to see how u stabilize. Alo Do what the dr. Says or at least try :/

Do you know hw many mgs of dilaudid you have per day? Approx. if your comfortable saying that is... Dilaudid was my drug of choice too but I was a nasal user.

Anyway, sub saved me from that life good luck to you, happy 4th

Hey glen, thanks...in the last 2 mo. I was doing about 8 K4s daily. I have been here reading for a while, find that
each person has a different gig. I think my dose is to small, butt Im doing what Doc. says til I can get in touch. Unbelievable
that Im not licking the carpet for crumbs! I totally have not had any cravings butt the pain is stiff. Speaking of stiff, I have not had a stiffy, morning wood, ect. in over 2 years! Wonder when I get regular on suboxone if I will get my mojo back? Man Im hoping my life can turn around in so many ways. Ironic, butt when I left the Doc's office Neil Young was in my stereo pickin & grinnin...I've seen the needle and the damage done, a little part of it in everyone, But every junkie's like a settin' sun.... I broke down and sobed like a babe! had to pull over an pull together. Looking for my peace! HOPE all here find theirs.... peace jack 8)

Hey man,,,
just wanted to give you a big.........

[marq=right]CONGRATS ON THE CHANGES YOU'VE MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/marq]

stick to your recovery, and all will get better, I promise
I shot the big D too........ had a grip on me like nothing else, ever.

But now, 14 months later, Im a different person. Im also a pain patient, and I gotta tell ya, I hurt pretty bad the first two weeks or so, I think it was just my body REALLY wanting me to "go back" to the opiates, but my pain got MUCH, MUCH better, and after just two weeks or so, I felt better (and still do) than I had in YEARS on the pain pills.

Hang in there, your doing the right thing, and your definitely in the right place

Hey Jack! I hope you're doing better than you were a few days ago. Update us on how you're feeling! I'm hoping, like Amber said, that your pain will settle down soon. Does ibuprofen work for you at all?

You're doing a wonderful thing by turning your life around. I hope you're getting plenty of support by friends and family.

Amy
