:D Well TODAY was my 1st DAY and WOW it went so much better than i thought. Dr. gave me 1st dose of 2 mgs and was the best relaxing mellow feeling that I had, had in hell 10 years minus 30 days that i was clean 1 time. Dr. really didn't put me on a schedule for dosing, just said take as needed when got the URGE to use, and really havent had it. So about 5 hrs later thought maybe I'll take 2mgs again since its only my 1st day, Didn't get the same feeling, but that could be alot of factors that have occured throughout the day, that caused that been running around in the Texas heat paying bills, etc. all day, Just took that second dose because it is my 1st day, and didn't want to go into wd's, like in the middle of the nite being that my body is used to having 10,000 to 12,000 mgs of vics a day.
Just really hope that this small dosage is going to work for me being i was feeling so GUILT about trading 1 drug for another. and getting addicted to something else.
So so far so good, looking forward to waking up tomorrow morning and seeing how this is going to work for me, have a LONG day of work.

One Question to anybody that took the time to read this LOL.

I have totally lost my appetite, Don't even think about food.
ANYBODY else??????
Never had this problem before.

P.S. Sorry about the long post/thread, but 1st day kinda excited, Prays it continues like this.
Thanks

Hi jl - congratulations on your first day of sub and glad you found the forum. Sub actually isn't intended to be a "take as needed" drug, because addicts alway feel we "need" something, and one of the purposes of Sub is to break us of that behavior. If you feel well on 4mg today you might want to try just taking 4mg in the morning and not dosing for the rest of the day. If you find it's not enough you could possibly up your dose slowly from there, with the goal being to take 1 adequate dose/day.

Also, there have been several new vicodin addicts posting this week, and there seems to be some confusion about the dosages they were taking. The second number of the vicodin dosage after the / (usually 500 or 750) is the amount of acetaminophen in the tablet, not the amount of opiate, which is usually 5, 7.5 or 10.

Good luck to you and I hope you find this forum a help to your recovery.
Lilly

Glad to hear the induction went well. That "feeling" you described will go away - it's just you getting used to the sub. It shouldn't last longer than a few days at the most. I don't recall feeling that I'd lost my appetite, but everyone is different.
Keep us posted on how you're doing.

jl- make sure your working on maximum absorption, if your only taking 4mg or 2mg per day thats important !!!! If you dont need 4mg try 3mg.. Please dont stabalize on more sub than you " REALLY " need... Staying on the lowest dose needed will be understood down the road a piece, Good Luck, Mike

I think it's pretty important that you understand that you need to take your suboxone on a regimen, not "as needed." It just blows my mind that there are doctors out there handing out instructions like this

Based on what you said you were taking, you'll probably do OK on 4MG per day. Take it once a day, at the same time each day. I'm not a doctor, and I don't play one of TV  But I've been on suboxone since December 2008 and in my experience it works best when you are taking a consistent dose each day.

I can't believe a doctor would send you on your way and instruct you to take as needed. That's absolutely ridiculous. That's not your fault though, so anyway congradulations. You'll see over time that being dependant on suboxone is not like being addicted to hydrocodone. Your on the right path. Try to find a dose that works and stick to it. Best of luck.
