Hi,
I am new to this forum. I am looking for some answers here. Please help me out.
One of my friend has been convicted of DUI. He was driving home after when the cops caught him. He was taken to the police station and tests were done on him. He has asked me for help and I really have no idea what should be done. He asked me to hire a DUI defence lawyer, but would that really help? I have no prior experience in all this, so I am too confused. But he was not drunk beyond the accepted limits and he had taken some Suboxone because he was on medication.
What should I do now? How can I help him come out of this situation? Please help me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Why is there an advertising link in your post?

that part has a link hidden with URL tags.

I deleted that link Jonathan, weird right? Bentley why did u put a link in ur post for an attorney? I'm confused.

My advice to u Bentley, is to let ur friend deal with his/her situation, especially if u don't know anything about dui or their situation. U are asking for help but u posted a link to an attorney (which I deleted), so I guess u found ur friend a lawyer? I'm confused :)

My spidery sense tells me that was a slightly clever attempt to post a link - in other words SPAM. I may be wrong, but I'll bet I'm not and we will not hear from the OP again. We will soon see.

I had a clue when I posted what I did...I've seen all kinds of subtle attempts to hide adverts in posts over the last ...well since 2004 when I joined my very first forum...so 13 years of forum usage...

Sentence structure doesn't make sense...

And some things wrong in general with that entire post...like this:

why would a friend ask anyone aside from family to hire a lawyer for them?
I have some really close friends that I care deeply for, but when it comes to your legal problems, you need to hire your own lawyer...I can't do that for a friend. And neither can anyone else...unless you got $3000 to $5000 for DUI DEFENSE...

I capitalized defense because that's another light bulb going off..bots generally dont have spell check. Defense is spelled ...the way I just spelled it. NOT defence.
"Hey, get off de fence".....

Here's the big, glaring problem with this entire post:

You're friend has been convicted of a DUI.
Lets look at that for a moment...

You're friend has been CONVICTED? If that's the case then a lawyer is useless...because at this point, the chance to lawyer up, being arraigned, entering a plea, and if deemed such, public defender has already been appointed.
Being convicted means it's already over. Does your friend just want a lawyer to be his friend? I mean, the point of hiring a DUI attorney after you're already convicted...
That's like wearing a condom with your spouse after she's already pregnant..
It's a little TOO late for that sort of thing..

I just didn't have time to bring out that inner asshole that I have deep down when I posted earlier...
But, I just had to come back to this one...it was worth the giggle to read the first post again...
