I'm wanting to start suboxone treatment. I have family back east that are on suboxone maintenance and it's the only way they've stayed clean. Any advice about starting the program, finding a dr in Phoenix and other helpful tips are appreciated!

Hoping to find dr that believes in long term maintenance therapy with subs. Preferably a psychiatrist as I'd like to start anxiety and depression meds as well

HI Peggy,

Other's will no doubt weigh in with better ideas, but I just used Google. Psychology Today's website has a listing of addiction psychiatrists, and most of them prescribe subs. However I found that many of those listed weren't actually addiction psychiatrists, but merely that they were qualified to treat addiction...based on what training I'm not sure. But there's a distinction as the latter group weren't always certified to prescribe subs.

Dest wishes,

Godfrey

This is a link to a search website. Put in your location first, then click on the box next to buprenorphine physicians. You can also change the miles you would be willing to travel to see a doctor. Here's the link:

https://findtreatment.samhsa.gov/locator?

Hope this helps.

Amy

I know this is a few months old but I have a great dr in Phx. Dr Karnill Dhillon. He is a physiatrist also. Pricing is great. $80 a month I think induction is like 300-400 maybe it's been awhile so I can't remember. Located in central Phx 10th street and Indian school he just moved there was in Glendale before the telephone is 602-603-1440. Good luck and congrats on making a huge first step

Thank u Luvmythree!

Dang that's an awesome monthly price. Maybe I should be living in Phoenix! It's really great to hear about doctors that aren't charging huge amounts and is affordable. I know that induction price seems excessive but that's what I pay every month, so for me it's pretty good.
