Hi,

My name is Ami and I'm a recovering addict who is on Suboxone. I wanted to introduce myself to you all and say that without this drug my life would have remained unmanageable. I use it along with N.A. meetings, going to counseling and working the 12 steps to help myself gain a better life with the use of drugs to mess things up. I don't think of it as "substituting one habit for another". I think of it in the terms of how, for one example, a person with diabetes sometimes needs to take insulin along with lifestyle changes, eating habits, etc and a supportive environment to help them with their diabetes; I am sick from the disease of opiate addiction and Suboxone is a medication designed to help me with the symptoms of my disease along with lifestyle changes and support from the people around me.

I look forward to reading your posts and getting to know everyone.

Thank you!

~Ami

Welcome aboard Ami...
I think your post is great I feel the same way about Subox...
I have been "clean" for 3 and a half months with Suboxone and plan to stay that way.
It is nice to have my life back without worrying about how many pills do I have
and when do I get my next batch!!!!
Best of luck in your recovery... & Keep us posted.
