This is my first time posting. I wanted to avoid message boards while in wd's (to many horror stories). I'm 22, male, skinny, and fairly healthy. I've tried everything under the sun, but after a back injury at work, opiates stuck. Over the course of 3ish years I moved up to heroin and methadone (switching in between the 2 for a couple years). By last January I had lost nearly everything (car, home, job, friends, etc.) At that point it was decision between death or IP treatment. I failed the first several times so I tried the latter. I was put on 8mg subs and got involved in NA and successfully completed treatment. I spent the last 6 months fighting my sub doc because he wanted me on for life. I decided to taper myself. I was able to get down to 2mg a day, but was having problems controlling myself around my sub script, so I jumped. I had never gotten past day 3 of wd's, but today's day 30 and I feel pretty great. Just wanted anyone who's off or going off to know that there is hope. If you have any questions about my experience please feel free to ask. I wish nothing but the best for all of you!

Hey ender!

Great job sticking out the WD. I know it's not easy, and takes a strong resolve to push through it.

Welcome to the forum! I look forward to hearning more about you and hope to see you be able to help others who are trying to quit subs with your personal experiences.
