I was hoping someone could answer something for me. I have been on 60mg of methadone for about 1 year now. I took my last dose 7 days ago and began taking suboxone 4 days ago. I started off taking 24mg of suboxone each day but it doesn't seem to be doing enough to curb the withdrawal completely. I understand the ceiling effect of suboxone but was wondering if you might suggest when the suboxone might start taking full effect. I appreciate it so much.

FIRST let me say,,,,,

[marq=right]GREAT JOB on getting this far!!!!![/marq]
so many....soooo many do NOT make it as far as you have....
so GREAT JOB on that...

now,,,
In MY experience,,, I was taking anywhere from 160mg to 200mg a day, for a couple years, off and on,
you know to H and then oxys then methadone again... anyways, I only was able to taper to 80 mg or so?
and skipped two days, then started subs...

so I had pretty "good" withdrawl symptoms, even ON 24mg of sub a day, for about two weeks...
I kept a journal, and I've looked back thru it once in awhile,
and yes,
at two weeks, I was definitely feeling much better.

I don't know how long you've been on methadone, total....but I had mild w/d symptoms once in awhile
for about six months.... the sub DEFINITELY helped... for sure,
but it didn't take "everything" away..

the good news is... YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!

I did, and now it's been two years!!!!
so,,, Hang tough,,,
and you'll make it.... It does feel like the sub isn't taking it all away,,, I still had intense leg cramps/RLS and sweats,
(hot and cold) and the RUNS.......
Like I said though,,,
Hopefully in two weeks time, most all the methadone will be gone, and the sub will be able to "take over" more....

any more questions, feel free to ask.

Good Luck!!!!

remember,,,,this fight is tough because......, [marq=right]*****ITS WORTH IT******[/marq]
