Post subject: insurance suddenly dropped coverage
PostPosted: Sat Apr 15, 2017 12:20 am
Hi all, have a huge problem right now. I've been taking Suboxone for 4 years now, my Dr tells me I should be on Suboxone as a life long treatment for my chronic pain, been through all the ups and down with regular pain management, been on everything to treat my pain, percosets, vicodin, fentanayl, morphine, just to name a few. None of them worked for long, and I always needed more, hence my Suboxone ...

Post subject: Report on the "War on Drugs." Read it and weep.

It's a long read, and grimly depressing. But it's worth at least a skim. It's all here, all the perfectly predictable harmful consequences of forgetting that the the distinction between alcohol and drugs is merely an arbitrary legal fiction. Prohibition failed utterly, and so of course has the war on drugs.

As far as I can tell, Donald Trump is planning to continue on in the same vein. In fact he's made noises about "doubling ...

Post subject: Laws on prescribing Suboxone
PostPosted: Wed Apr 05, 2017 12:05 pm
Here's what I have to deal with on a monthly basis. And I'm sure some of you have it worse, and if you do i apologize. But my sub doctor requires monthly visits. I started 6 years ago when the monthly rate was $100 so as long as I don't quit the program and start over my doctor can't charge me more than $100. I say that because a year or so after I started ...

Post subject: Vocational Rehabilitation Act '73 discussed in Phila. movie

Philadelphia the movie is currently on as background noise. The following dialog made me start watching it as it seems to apply to the stigma we deal with as being labeled addicts. what do you all think?

Joe Miller: The Federal Vocational Rehabilitation Act of 1973* prohibits discrimination against otherwise qualified handicapped persons who are able to ...

Post subject: Is There Anything We Can Do?
PostPosted: Tue Feb 14, 2017 11:59 pm
With all the information we have here on our forum it seems most of it goes to waste concerning the DEA, or any government entity when deciding how best to handle the opiate crisis.

So many doctors will only accept cash, which I do understand to some extent depending on services rendered like our own Dr. Junig. But a lot of others only want the money and it makes me wonder if they are really ...

Hello all. I am an RN on suboxone, with an Rx receiving treatment from an addiction specialist. I have never been in trouble legally or with any nursing board.  Post subject: Nursing and Suboxone
PostPosted: Thu Jan 19, 2017 12:02 am
Can a person who is prescribed suboxone get liscensed as a nurse? Does it vary by state? I am particularly talking about the state of South Carolina. I called the nursing board and did not get a difinitive answer. They said it's up to your employer if your already a nurse. For people who aren't a nurse yet and are taking sub then it's on a case by case basis. If prescribed sub as an ...
