Post subject: Bupe absorption and pregnancy.
PostPosted: Fri Feb 24, 2017 8:50 pm
Sadly I miscarried recently but my brief pregnancy experience taught me a lot about bupe and pregnancy that I'd like to share.
Btw: I'm coping very well with having lost this baby and I'm optimistic about the future and eager to try again. The odds are good.
So here's how it went: as soon as I found out I was pregnant I switched from suboxone to subutex. It felt like it wasn't enough and I ...

I just found out I'm pregnant I take one milligram Subs everyday and I have an OB appointment in a couple weeks. I plan to tell them right away that I take Subs,my question is how do you think the doctor will handle it or anyone who's been in my position. will she except me and help me stay on them, will CPS be involved? I'm just nervous that when I'm honest with them that ...

Post subject: NAS- ranges of time before it appears after birth
PostPosted: Mon Jan 16, 2017 2:12 am
I was just recently told that the hospitals in my area will hold babies exposed opiates (or maybe it was just to methadone or suboxone... i am not sure) for 10 days even if the baby has not been scoring/displaying NAS. The claim is the it is because it can take that long for NAS to occur. Is that true? It could take 10 days before NAS even begins?

Post subject: Sub dosing during pregnancy
PostPosted: Tue Jan 03, 2017 6:28 am
So, I'm only 5 weeks pregnant and tapered quite dramatically prior to getting pregnant (from 12mg down to 0.5mg over a year or so).
When I found out I was pregnant I changed from suboxone to subutex and have already increased my dose to 0.6mg as 0.5 wasn't holding me.
I've heard it's common for pregnant women to require a dose increase in the thiird trimester but what abut in the first trimester? Or is ...

Post subject: How does an Epidural work while on Suboxone?
PostPosted: Thu Dec 29, 2016 2:02 am
I asked my OB about this earlier on in my pregnancy and he said they could always just do the numbing agent. What is the best way to get an Epidural if on suboxone? My friend was at 4mg throughout her pregnancy, didn't tell her OB or any of the staff, and she got an Epidural. I asked how that worked if suboxone is supposed to block other pain meds and she said "maybe that ...

PostPosted: Tue Dec 27, 2016 3:56 pm
I feel guilty but my emotional state is out weighing that guilt. I am now 31 weeks pregnant. I have been struggling to get down to 2mg since the beginning of my pregnancy. I had actually started off optimistic and after talking to my OB was planning to go down to 1mg by delivery. But I became mentally ill and was started on zoloft, which I had taken during my last pregnancy and it helped. But ...

 Post subject: bup/breast milk
PostPosted: Thu Dec 01, 2016 5:54 pm
I am currently on subutex and breastfeeding, I was on 4mg a day during pregnancy and baby was perfectly healthy with very low NAS scores and needed no medication for withdrawal symptoms. I already have a lower milk supply than most because I am on medication. I would greatly appreciate anyones experience with weaning from breast milk... when did you start weaning (how old was baby) and how did you do it? I have heard ...

Post subject: Help! Sub Dr said pregnant women do not w/d!
PostPosted: Tue Oct 25, 2016 11:36 pm
I have been on Suboxone for a year. I recently found out I am expecting my third child. I was hoping to feel reassured when I spoke to my sub dr but now I am terrified. I am already taking 4mg a day. I thought I could maintain around 2mg a day through delivery. He says he will keep me on 2mg until my final month and then take me off completely! He said women ...
