Post subject: Almost full term and getting anxious
PostPosted: Fri Aug 18, 2017 12:27 pm
Hey all. I don't really have a question or anything too specific to talk about... just needing to vent I guess. I started looking for info and experiences here well into the 2nd trimester of my pregnancy {FTM}. I wasn't told very much by my OB regarding what to expect once my daughter is born and I am my psychiatrist's (suboxone prescriber) first pregnant patient so he doesn't have very much information either. Seems they're ...

Hi again..It seems that a lot of woman went home at day 2. If my son were to have gone home by day 2 (which he wouldn't cuz they wanted to wait 3, then 4 , then 5 days) ..he wouldn't have showed any signs of W/D yet. It took 3-4 days.To me it was mild ..I felt I could have handled it at home. I was on about .35 mg. Subutex. Super low dose. ...

Post subject: Baby has NAS despite .5 Dose of Bupe
PostPosted: Thu Aug 17, 2017 12:40 pm
I wanted to let all the Pregnant woman on Sub know that the amount your take has NOTHING to do with if your baby will experience Withdrawal symptoms. I was on 6mg.when I found out I was pregnant. Cut that in half upon finding out I was pregnant and lowered every month or so. The last few months I was on .5 and even went to .25 - but it was more like only a ...

Post subject: Keep "throwing up" my Subutex
PostPosted: Wed Aug 09, 2017 1:41 pm
Hey guys, unfortunately I'm in a little of a predicament.
I can't stand the taste of subutex, or generic bup.
I know it's absorbed sublingually, so I'm not technically throwing up the medicine, but within a minute of dosing, I'm throwing up my guts. :(
I've tried to hold the tablet under my tongue while I'm vomiting and that doesn't work. Being pregnant is making my taste ...

Post subject: Breastfeeding during NICU stay
PostPosted: Mon Aug 07, 2017 12:14 pm
I'm 40w3d today. My hospital requires a (minimum) 5 day stay for the baby to monitor him for withdrawals. I'm planning on staying with him as long as needed to breastfeed, so I was curious about other experiences people have had with that.
Did anyone exclusively breastfeed? I don't want to pump if I can avoid it.
What was it like staying in the NICU to feed every couple of hours? They said I can ...

Post subject: New less aggressive way to score Neonatal Abstinence Syndrom
PostPosted: Fri Aug 04, 2017 10:42 pm
This new less aggressive better way to assess NAS study was with Mom's on methadone for opioid use disorder. No bup mom's. Know that a recent study showed bup babies have far lower NAS and hospital stays than methadone babies.

May 2017 New way to assess NAS called ESC- Eat Sleep Console to score NAS results in far shorter stays of 5.9 days vs 22.5 days and far less babies treated with morphine at 12% ...

 Post subject: Subutex after pregnancy?
PostPosted: Fri Aug 04, 2017 5:17 pm
Hey all. Just wondering if anyone knows whether insurance will require me to go back to Suboxone once I deliver or just leave me on Subutex?
I'm with Blue Cross in Alabama and the way I understood it was only approved to swap to Subutex because I am pregnant. I am hoping to exclusively breastfeed for at least a year and wasn't sure if one was better than the other as far as that goes. ...

Post subject: Pregnant and feeling some guilt
PostPosted: Wed Aug 02, 2017 7:50 pm
Hey all, I'm new here. I've been reading through this forum for a few months and decided today, I would reach out.

I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant with my second boy, and my fiancé and I couldn't be happier. I've been taking suboxone since October of 2015, after I relapsed for a short period of time out of treatment.
Suboxone has worked wonders in my life, however, I never planned on getting pregnant while on ...

Post subject: Baby in NICU for NAS
PostPosted: Sat Jul 08, 2017 10:17 pm
Hi! I'm new to this site, but I was wanting to share my experience with having 2 children while taking subutex during pregnancy. I was diagnosed with systemic lupus about 10 years ago and was on hydrocodone before finding out I was pregnant with my now 1 year old. I switched to subutex after being told it is safer and even the babies that do end up with NAS have a shorter time in the ...

Post subject: ready to get my life back- ready to taper off! whos w/me? :)
PostPosted: Sun Jul 02, 2017 3:50 pm
I am a 31yo mother of 1, and after my daughter was born 7 years ago, I was put on Percocet for chronic bursitis in my hip. (it was to the point that walking more then 20 feet caused me to be pretty much incapable of functioning.) after 2 years on this, my doctor switched me to oxycontin because it was slow release and less likely to be abused. WRONG. After 5 years of using ...
