NO arguments about stopping vs. staying, no taper questions. For people who use buprenorphine as the mainstay of their life-long recovery program, with no CURRENT interest in stop dates. We believe addiction is a life-long illness that deserves life-long treatment. For people on buprenorphine and for people who love them- who feel the same way.

Post subject: Yes I want to stay on. But its the 'how'... that worries me
PostPosted: Wed Oct 25, 2017 12:13 am
Hey everyone,
Its been a while since I have posted. I have decided since I began my induction that I was going to try and stay on suboxone long term. The longer time went on, the more assured I have become that I want to stay on maintenance indefinitely.

My doctor seems to not believe in maintenance. I found this out the last visit. I am 8 months in. I have talked about wanting to ...

PostPosted: Thu Jul 06, 2017 10:24 am
No idea who will read/see this but I have found reading these forums to be helpful in encouraging me to get off the Subutex so I decided to post a thread in the hopes you guys can help me get thru the next few weeks. I'm currently in NY visiting family and friends but my home base is FL. I'm a female, 33, no kids or partner, own my own business.

Quick backstory on how ...

PostPosted: Sun Sep 11, 2016 9:50 pm

Post subject: What is a reasonable maintenance dosage?
PostPosted: Sat Jul 23, 2016 5:19 am
I'll keep it as short as possible, and hope that suboxdoc or other informed members can help; it is possible that I will answer the question by asking, but confirmation would be much appreciated.
I have been on Suboxone for 3 and 1/2 years, starting out at 8mg, dropping to 4mg, then 2mg followed by a failed and uninformed attempt to quit. I learned that lesson the hard way. Not doing it again.
I am ...

Post subject: Finally Figured Out The Counseling Issue!
PostPosted: Sun May 01, 2016 12:31 am
So, I finally figured out the whole "government said you need counseling to get this medicine!" thing. After leaving one place that didn't take state insurance, only private or check/cash, I was on track to begin with a different place that said I'd need to go to two hour groups three times a week in addition to hourly monthly one-on-ones. At my last Suboxone doctor's appointment I spoke with one of the doctors about my ...

Post subject: Think about what's right for YOU
PostPosted: Thu Apr 14, 2016 1:42 pm
I've been on 8mg a day for about 2 years or so, and the medication is still doing what it did for me on day one...make me feel normal. I remember when I first found this forum via google, and also a couple anti sub forums. I wanted to find out what I was getting into, and so many people were both for, and against suboxone. 4 or 5 rehabs in between 15 years of ...

Post subject: Are there doctors that offer this as addiction maintenance?
PostPosted: Wed Apr 06, 2016 11:40 pm
Hi. I've been pretty steady on subs since 09. I came off it for 3 months in 2011. I can not stress this enough, it was the worst, most miserable 3 months of my life. I went in very optimistic, thinking it would be nothing. I tried, I really did. I lost 20lbs the first month. Couldn't eat, no appetite. It was winter at the time, bear in mind I rarely get cold. I'm always ...

I'm Devin. I am 25. I have 12 days suboxone free! I have been on suboxone aince i was 21. I had started at 14mg of suboxone 1x daily and over about 3 1/2 years almost 4 years i had slowly weigned down on the subs. I got to 1/3 of a 2 mg strip when i decided it was the time to make the jump! Obviously the first 4 or 5 days were bad ...

Post subject: Being Told Suboxone Is "A Crutch".
PostPosted: Sat Mar 19, 2016 4:42 am
A few months ago I went to my bi-monthly appointment, (Medicaid in my state will only cover a two week supply at a time), and was speaking with the doctor assigned to me for the appointment, (the office hires several outside doctors to come in and see patients so even though my prescription always says it's from one particular doctor I never actually see him but I do see a different doctor every time I'm ...
