Post subject: If you're ever feeling ungrateful, this is rehab in China
PostPosted: Sat Jun 10, 2017 9:53 pm
Former detainees in Yunnan told Human Rights Watch that while in drug detention centers they were beaten and made to work up to 18 hours daily in wretched conditions without pay. Multiple sources told Human Rights Watch that detainees are consistently denied access to basic medical care. Former detainees in Yunnan report that TB is common, and untreated, among detainees. Former detainees and local NGO workers interviewed in Yunnan told Human Rights Watch that when ...

Post subject: First Year on Suboxone and Ready for Some Real Recovery
PostPosted: Mon Oct 10, 2016 2:38 pm
Ok I've been on Suboxone for a little over 6 months. I have the clear mind and no cravings to speak of. I just know I need to be doing more. I heard something yesterday that I wrote down, "Buprenorphine is not a cure but it does put addiction in remission". I actually thought Suboxone was a cure to start with and I feel it's the closest thing to one but am discovering there is ...

Post subject: How Do You Handle Steppers?
PostPosted: Wed Mar 16, 2016 6:39 am
Just curious; How do you all handle people who are all gung-ho for AA/NA, (like a counselor for instance), who tell you that you aren't really in recovery if you aren't 'working the steps' and/or attending AA/NA meetings; that you've become complacent and are just counting time until you relapse? This is a slightly hypothetical question since this is pretty much exactly what my new counselor told me upon meeting me for the first time, ...

Post subject: Anyone in northern lower michigan?
PostPosted: Mon Feb 29, 2016 6:55 pm
Hi all! I was wondering if anyone lived near me and was interested in a "suboxone meet". I've attended na, and my new life requires me to be honest, so my sponsor knew of my suboxone treatment and for some reason she decided to spread that information. Every meeting, she would ask if I was now weaned to a minimal amount, loud enough for others to hear. I really enjoyed the fellowship aside from this, ...

Post subject: How I feel about other programs such as (Inpaitient)
PostPosted: Tue Jan 26, 2016 6:09 pm
When it comes to recovery, I have no issues with NA/AA. In the beginning of every NA class I attent( And i attent 2 a weel, not court ordered) we state, somewhere along the lines of " this is a NA meeting, please do not bring up any drug names or ways of using drug for everyone here knows how to use drugs, we are here to learn how not to use drugs" bla bla ...

Post subject: What it's like to attent SMART after 8 years in AA
PostPosted: Sat Oct 24, 2015 2:14 am
This article mirrored a lot of my views. AA and NA have a self-perceived and self-perpetuated idea that they are the only means to get recovery. But once you start to question the 12-step recovery paradigm, it's hard to go back.

I’d been convinced by everyone on the planet that AA was the only thing that could protect me from drinking. I was also convinced that if I left AA, I’d relapse. If this SMART ...

Post subject: Q about Vivitrol injections...need advice asap
PostPosted: Thu Oct 16, 2014 5:12 pm
OK...this is for my brother who called me today and said he had relapsed on Heroin and went to a Dr today and got a 65.00 Vivitrol shot. I looked it up but was wondering is there is withdrawal when it wears off? I am almost going into my 6th day of Sub withdrawal and they advertise Vivitrol for THAT. I mean...crap...when does it end and you just gotta suck it up and go through ...

 Post subject: Counselling, NA/AA Meetings
PostPosted: Wed May 07, 2014 10:32 pm
I have always been an introvert, the real shy type, massive social anxiety. Early on, many years ago, I discovered that my pain meds helped the situation. In fact they helped so much that this was one of the justifications I used to make, just 1 more. The larger the social function, the greater the dosage. This emotional pain and my real physical pain both conspired and the rest is history.

At any rate, neither ...

I have been an opiate addict since late 2004, finally in Feb of 2013 I got in a really great program I dont pay a thing to see doc and get treatment. Since I have been on suboxone my life has changed for the best.
I started on 2 strips a day and then in less than three months I got down to a half or a quarter of the 8mg/2mg subs. But my problem ...
