I've been using heroin for four years. IV since last June. I am a pretty big person too 6 foot 1 195 pounds. Sometimes...not all the times..i can get a buzz from suboxone. Usually when I'm meditating I notice it really heavy. Or like an hour or two after I take it it's like a warm feeling. Last year before I started IVing a fourth of a Suboxone would get me.ROCKED for like a whole ...

Post subject: Feeling blah - day 4 on Suboxone
PostPosted: Thu May 11, 2017 9:04 pm
Please tell me this gets better. I had such high hopes for Suboxone but it's day 4 on 12mg (split into 2 doses - 8mg in the morning and 4mg at night) and by afternoon I just feel like crap. I dose the same time (8:30am and 8:30pm). After the morning dose I feel fine, but about 1pm it goes downhill. I get anxious, have cravings, and no energy). My night time does helps a ...

Post subject: Can Suboxone stop working after 12-14 years?
PostPosted: Sun May 07, 2017 3:34 am
If I compare how suboxone worked for me for the first 7-8 years and for the past 1-11/2 years it seems to be completely different.
It seems to work for 20 minutes then extremely tired, dizzy, and depressed. No energy to do much of anything and sometimes it's work to perform basic health functions such as sleep,eating,etc...
I've reduced dose, increased it but it's like my body just doesn't produce or react to Suboxone like it did.
I've done ...

Post subject: serious depression and sedation from suboxone?
PostPosted: Mon Apr 17, 2017 1:59 am
I started Suboxone a week ago and I haven't felt like myself at all since. I'm not really craving opiates when I'm on it but my desire to do anything is pretty much gone, I no longer enjoy any of the activities I used to do and I don't have the motivation or energy to even leave the house unless I absolutely have to. I feel really out of it, I have a lot of ...

Post subject: An article in the New York Times - opioids for depression
PostPosted: Tue Apr 11, 2017 2:41 am

Are Opioids the Next Antidepressant?

ONE of the most painful experiences of being a psychiatrist is having a patient for whom none of the available therapies or medications work.

A while back, I was asked to do a consultation on just such a patient. This person had been a heroin addict in her early 20s. She had quit the opioid five years earlier, but her life was plagued with anxiety, apathy and self-doubt that ...

Post subject: Seasonal Depression; That time of the year again...
PostPosted: Sun Oct 30, 2016 10:36 pm
The leaves are changing colors, the temperature is dropping and I just want to throw the covers over my head and stay in bed and do nothing again. It's the time of year I was hoping I wouldn't have to deal with. "Maybe the Suboxone will take care of it this year," I thought to myself. Well, unfortunately "the winter time blues" as I like to refer to it, is well on it's way to ...

Post subject: I'm on a lot of psych meds; Bupe improves my mood! Too much?
PostPosted: Sun Oct 23, 2016 11:02 pm
Am I on too many meds? Is this a sustainable regimen? Bupe really improves my mood, it acts almost like a stabilizer/mild antidepressant. I'm thinking about dropping some meds but which ones? Am I on too much bupe? Just got back on 16mg again. Apparently, I'm on a lot? Well I know it's supposed to be a lot. I got off bupe in January and got back on it beginning of October '16.

Suboxone [buprenorphine/naloxone ...

Post subject: Day 5 - Ups and Downs
PostPosted: Wed Aug 31, 2016 12:31 am
Hey there.

I have some good news and some bad news. Yesterday was my 4th day on Suboxone. I took my prescribed 12mgs in 3 doses throughout the day. I was off from work, and I had a great day off. Instead of waking up and starting the process of tracking down my opiates folloed by being high all day- just to come down in the evening and be unpleasant to my family; I woke ...

Post subject: Day 3 - First noticeable side effects
PostPosted: Mon Aug 29, 2016 1:52 am
Hey everyone.

Today was my third day on bup. I took my suggested dose of 1.5 strips and I feel pretty good. Very limited cravings, and still extremely surprised at the absence of withdrawal symptoms and also the energy levels and productivity I am able to maintain at work. I am very pleased.

Some side effects I am encountering are an increased appetite/empty feeling stomach, and today I was a little agitated. Some things that ...
