Post subject: Lupus pain and prescribed Suboxone
PostPosted: Fri Aug 11, 2017 11:16 pm
After trying everything else possible via my rhuematologist- including a series of pain medications via a pain management specialist- Suboxone finally gave me some relief from the awful core body pain I had been experiencing. I tried to get off of 12mg/day a few months ago- very slowly- and my body went into shock days 9-11 with no Suboxone. To make a long story short, I am back on 8mg/day now.... but am terrified that ...

Ok, so I'm a 50-something female who has been using suboxone for about 4 years. The most I ever used was 4 mg. per day and that was never consistent. (I started the suboxone to get off a 3-4 year pain pill habit - 8-10 Vic's/percs per day, or whatever I could find). I always used orally, never snorted or injected at any time. In 2013 I actually tapered to .5 mg. per day for ...

Post subject: I only wanted to fit into my Mardi Gras ball gown
PostPosted: Tue Jul 18, 2017 7:44 pm
Patients & treatment providers always say u never forget your first drug of choice. This is so true at least in my situation. Back in the dark ages (1976), I was chosen to be queen of a prestigious Mardi Gras ball and parade. Here in New Orleans, that is still quite an honor, I was thrilled except for the fact that I used to refer to myself as (tastefully chubby). Oh hell I was fat-not ...

Hi everyone. Just joined and this is my first post. A little over 4 months ago I cold turkeyed 16mg after one year. I was kept on this dose for pain management. I was an athlete attempting to go full pro when tragidy struck. I fell down 40 feet of steep concrete attempting to preform a stunt. I was prescribed oxycodone for two weeks. Still in serious pain I told the doctor i didnt want ...

Post subject: Could PAWS last over 2 years
PostPosted: Sat May 13, 2017 1:43 am
I stopped suboxone back in October of 2014. It was awful, of course. I had been on the thing for about 2.5 years on about an average of 6 mg daily (at first 8 then usually would cut the strip in half to get 4mg). I didn't really taper and just kinda jumped off. Anyways,I always had a bit of underlying anxiety and worry issues and had been on some type of an SSRI for ...

Hello everyone! My name is Sandi and I'm so grateful to find this forum. I've been reading here and there and it's almost refreshing to see I'm not alone.
My father was an alcoholic, his father the same. I had a very dysfunctional childhood that left a lot of wounds. I got pregnant and married at 16. We stayed married for 18 years and had 2 more children. While the marriage wasn't the greatest, I ...

 Post subject: Hello, Everyone.

Hello to all!
I am currently near the end of my Suboxone tapering and before posting on specifics, I thought I should introduce myself.

My story, briefly (brevity NOT being my strong suit)...

Roughly 25 year ago I had a heavy Percocet habit that ultimately had me taking about 30 per day. We're talking Elvis sized abuse. When I couldn't get Percocets, I'd grab Vicodin, Codiene, anything I could get my hands on.
Like many, ...

Post subject: Taking the jump from 8mg
PostPosted: Sat Nov 05, 2016 1:06 pm
So today is day 2. I've been on 24 mg of suboxone for 3 years. In the last 2 months I've managed to taper down to 8 mg and I have a very detrimental job waiting for me to rid myself of this "maintenance medication" before I start. Luckily they are giving me time to get it out of my system. Last dose was the morning 3 days ago. I work out have an extremely ...
