Post subject: Relapse is always optional, physical dependence is not
PostPosted: Fri Feb 16, 2018 12:06 pm
Hi I am an addict. What follows is a cautionary tale and one to let anyone who might be faced with a similar situation know there is hope. I apologize in advance for the lengthy post.

In early 2007 I was in a minor car accident that caused a major neck injury. For 6 months I went to hundreds of chiropractic appointments, physical therapy appointments and I had a surgical procedure called a rhizotomy where ...

Post subject: One long ride !
PostPosted: Sun Feb 04, 2018 11:03 am
Hello all,
I'm 37yo and live in rural WV. I'm going to try and consolidate this as much as possible. From here out: "we" is my wife and I. We have been together since high school.
We started eating hydro's at 19 or 20. Soon went to snorting hydro's or Perc. We started smoking weed earlier than that. Wasn't ever much of a drinker. Excluding the occasional party.

It wasn't long until the oxycontin was ...

 Post subject: Magic Mushrooms
PostPosted: Fri Feb 02, 2018 8:57 am
Is it true that you can get alot from psychedelic mushroom? I've been reading this article about magic mushrooms lately and im fascinated about its medicinal properties but it has psychedelic effect that can make you hallucinate. The thing is it can help you cope with depression and gives you a relaxing vibe but im not pretty sure because i haven't really tried it myself yet. Can you give me some more information regarding about ...

PostPosted: Mon Jan 29, 2018 11:05 pm
Hi everyone and I’m new to the site. I belonged to the Addiction Survivors website but it closed sorry to say, I loved it. I do not know how I avoided serious opiate addiction for so long but I think it has to do with my age. As a teenager in the 70’s we smoked weed and drank beer, period. I guess it was luck but even though I played guitar in a band and ...

Post subject: Lupus pain and prescribed Suboxone
PostPosted: Fri Aug 11, 2017 11:16 pm
After trying everything else possible via my rhuematologist- including a series of pain medications via a pain management specialist- Suboxone finally gave me some relief from the awful core body pain I had been experiencing. I tried to get off of 12mg/day a few months ago- very slowly- and my body went into shock days 9-11 with no Suboxone. To make a long story short, I am back on 8mg/day now.... but am terrified that ...

Ok, so I'm a 50-something female who has been using suboxone for about 4 years. The most I ever used was 4 mg. per day and that was never consistent. (I started the suboxone to get off a 3-4 year pain pill habit - 8-10 Vic's/percs per day, or whatever I could find). I always used orally, never snorted or injected at any time. In 2013 I actually tapered to .5 mg. per day for ...

Post subject: I only wanted to fit into my Mardi Gras ball gown
PostPosted: Tue Jul 18, 2017 7:44 pm
Patients & treatment providers always say u never forget your first drug of choice. This is so true at least in my situation. Back in the dark ages (1976), I was chosen to be queen of a prestigious Mardi Gras ball and parade. Here in New Orleans, that is still quite an honor, I was thrilled except for the fact that I used to refer to myself as (tastefully chubby). Oh hell I was fat-not ...

Hi everyone. Just joined and this is my first post. A little over 4 months ago I cold turkeyed 16mg after one year. I was kept on this dose for pain management.  Post subject: Could PAWS last over 2 years
PostPosted: Sat May 13, 2017 1:43 am
I stopped suboxone back in October of 2014. It was awful, of course. I had been on the thing for about 2.5 years on about an average of 6 mg daily (at first 8 then usually would cut the strip in half to get 4mg). I didn't really taper and just kinda jumped off. Anyways,I always had a bit of underlying anxiety and worry issues and had been on some type of an SSRI for ...
