I want to share Dr. Junig's wisdom regarding psychological versus physiological symptoms people have from buprenorphine/nalaxone.

This is a response he wrote to a member of our forum who is an attorney and was asking about some specific things. Dr. Junig starts out by comparing medicine to the law as he answered the lawyer. That is the context of what Dr. Junig wrote here.

Please read!!!

Post subject: Options when Suboxone starts to affect your T levels
PostPosted: Sat Apr 01, 2017 8:06 pm
It seems I've hit that place again where Suboxone starts to affect endocrine functioning / testosterone levels. This usually happens after I've been on Suboxone a couple of years. Given I've been on Suboxone this time from late 2014. I started needing 8mg to keep my cravings at bay and that dose has slowly increased to 16mg, which no doubt contributes to the issue.

The symptoms of low T are things like no libido, no ...

Somehow worked my way down to a little less than 2 mg. It's been rough...Insomnia, Bad Muscle Aches, Waves, etc...To the point that I can barely move at times. But I still want to stop this stuff completely. Somehow...

I couldn't believe all the 'Detox' centers that now list 'Suboxone'. This stuff is the real deal. Anything you are feeling or going through is most likely due to Suboxone. Don't blame yourself...It hits everything and ...

Post subject: Will sedation go away?
PostPosted: Fri Mar 10, 2017 12:17 pm
I'm taking this med for treatment resistant depression (its very off-label at the moment but research is emerging for depression treatment). After trying 25+ meds, finally this works! Had several side effects, all went away except pretty serious sedation... at a full dose, I'm afraid to drive as I've been so drowsy I nearly fell asleep several times. Any chance this might go away too??

Question...I'm a middle-aged male and am having the same unfortunate health issue on suboxone as when I was on tramadol. I am wondering if this is a known side effect for opioids. Before I started on the tramadol, I was a beginning runner. Although I'd only run about two half marathons and wasn't the best at it, I was still always improving and had a ton of energy. Once I was hooked on the tramadol, ...
