Post subject: Upcoming oral surgery, looking for advice
PostPosted: Tue Jan 31, 2017 7:46 pm
I have read some others experiences in here and they have been very helpful, just wanting to get some personalized advice. I am about to have major dental surgery, extracting all of my remaining top teeth and one bottom tooth for a total of 14 teeth. I will be sedated in the office for the surgery itself and will have a immediate upper denture put in place before I leave. Some of the extraction will ...

Post subject: High Opiate Tolerance After Stopping?
PostPosted: Mon Jan 23, 2017 12:31 pm
I have not visited this site in forever and it's good to be back. Still on low dose (1/3 of 8 mg. strip daily) maintenance. Possible surgery on horizon and have been reading some of these posts. Although I usually consider myself a know it all (lol) I am not clear on why we have a higher tolerance to opiates for a considerable timer after weaning. If anyone can please help me with this, I ...

Post subject: Advice on oral surgery please
PostPosted: Sat Dec 31, 2016 8:13 pm
Hi gang! So I just discovered that I need my wisdom teeth out. I'm not so much worried about the pain after as I am being knocked out. We'll it work or will soboxone block it? I'm also worried about the horror stories I hear about people being paralyzed and can't move during surgery but can hear and feel everything. Does anyone have any wisdom about my wisdom teeth? Lol I know, I'm a dork ...

 Post subject: Surgery while tapering
PostPosted: Fri Dec 23, 2016 12:00 pm
Hello all, first post here. Let me begin by saying that I fully intend to spend hours of my time looking through these boards. I am thrilled something like this exists. I think my wife is on here somewhere too, not for her abuse-she's clean-but for mine.
At first I was hesitant to post a question that's already been asked and answered, but I seem to be having trouble with the search function. When I ...

I am having a complete hysterectomy tomorrow. The Drs will also be taking out several large masses attached to my ovaries and uterus to check for cancer. I have been on suboxine for over 5 years on and off. Originally given to me for opiate addiction and continued use for serotonin for depression. I have weened myself down to less than 2mg daily for over a year now. My pain doc wanted me to switch ...

PostPosted: Wed Oct 12, 2016 11:47 am
So I have been on 1 strip of suboxone for two years and long story short this past August I had a subtalar joint fusion on my ankle. I told my sub doc and so the plan was to take three strips a day starting the day of/after surgery. Well I didn't have any problems and it worked. I took Tylenol also and a half strip every 3 to 4 hours and I only did ...
