i've been trying to get into the chat room.....i have a question about the 8mg sub strip. It's all I have to detox with (long story) I've been using just like a bag or 2 of heroin daily, but for like quite a few months on and off, And so I managed to get just ONE 8mg strip. Is it true that you've got to be IN WITHDRAWAL before taking any suboxone? Or it throws you into precipitated horrible withdrawl? Also, should I maybe cut it into half, start with one half once I am experiencing withdrawl symptoms? Thanks....please get back to me before tomorrow noon ish, as this is when I plan to take the strip. I'll definitely be sick by then......thanks.

Not quite sure how heavy your use was but one 8 mg strip is not going to help you much. It might take the edge off for a day or two if you cut it into 2mg pieces. Is there anyway you can get more or find a sub clinic asap?

To answer your question, if you take it to early it could throw you into precipitated withdrawals. There is a COWS scale on this site if you do a search for it, it should bring up the link. You can score your symptoms on the scale and take a piece of the sub when you are in the high range.

Good luck!
