Maybe everyone can pitch in and say what the price per pill is at every pharmacy. Suboxdoc mentioned that its approximately $5 a pill at Wal-Mart, I think. Maybe having a list would help everyone find the best price?

Hi James-- I think even Wal-Mart is more expensive these days. A couple years ago, both WalMart and ShopKo were less than $5 per pill; now they are more like six bucks. Anyone want to share what they pay? It would be interesting to hear the part of the country you are from as well.

Doesn't that figure?! Well, hopefully the cost will go down when it goes generic.

I was hoping that we could get a nice list going.. When I get enough feedback I'll make a list post and it'll be a good reference.

Through the end of January, I was paying $60 for 120 8mg pills. Staring February 1st, my employer changed insurance companies and I now pay $30 for 120 8mg pills. I'm looking at a prescription statement from a couple of months ago, and the price WITHOUT insurance was $1018 ($8.48 each)! I'm in Portland, OR., by the way.

I was paying $540 for 90 ($6 ea.) near Valley Forge PA until July 1. NOW they are $7.50 each. I was breaking the bank with the $540 I was laying out, but now I have to reduce to 2x day because of cost. I'm searching around in other states that are close just to get a feel for the difference. NEVER bitch about employer benefits! I was a Co. man for 20 years, and nw that I'm on my own and OFF medicaid, I really screwed myself. I guess thats what you get when you get honest.

I am paying $7.04 per 8mg tablet at Drug Warehouse in Oklahoma.

Any word on when or if the generics are coming out? I think I read somewhere that the patent was up real soon, like within the next month or so. Maybe the Subox Doc has some recent info on this. For those of us with little or no insurance coverage, a generic could save us a fortune! I am crossing my fingers!

Maybe I was not resourceful enough, but spending $500 per day (and not even getting high at all either) on Oxycontin makes me appreciate my $50.00 monthly cost for any amount of subs through my insurance. I just have this feeling deep inside that knowing insurers in america, this coverage will eventually be dropped, and seen as a 'me too' drug, like viagra (insurances don't cover that I am told). Then we will all be screwed for sure.

I am in Danville Virginia and I called around yesterday to find who has the cheapest suboxone in my area.
$843 at Target for 120 8/2mg
$842 at Walmart for 120 8/2mg
$911 at CVS for 120 8/2mg
I currently have health insurance but they pay for $150 worth of the medication then I have to pay 20% of what the cost is after the $150 so I end up paying around $160 a month for my medication. Its crazy at how we would pay anything for our street drugs and I still complain at how much this is costing me. My insurance doesn't pay for the therapy and my doctor requires that I see him monthly and that runs me around $95 a month. He will not write refills for the medication, Does anyone have their doc write refills?

Well, medicaid covers the cost of mine, but if I didn't have it the price of my 30 pills every two weeks, (though, now it's 22 pills), would be 160$ at the pharmacy at the clinic where I see my suboxone doctor both and use their in-office pharmacy for my medication. I had to sign an agreement that I would only use thier office pharmacy to fill my suboxone no matter what or I will get kicked from the program. It's really good to have the doctor and the pharmacy all in one building, but kind of sucks when you've got one of those prescription cost assistant cards that would make the cost of the suboxone so much cheaper at another pharmacy if/when my medicaid should ever expire.

I found Kmart has an ok discount plan. I was paying $171 for 30 8/2 mg pills.

Also, if you are a AAA member it saves you about $30-$40 bucks too. still around $181 for 30 8/2 mg

I don't think your doctor can legally do that. He must be getting "kickbacks" from the pharmacy. I would call my Attorney Generals office and rat his azz out.
