Hi all. My Name is Scotty. I am a 41 yr. old Musician from N.Y. & I am also on Suboxone. I feel better than I have in years, I have energy, & I have my family back in my life. I had a back injury back in 2003 that screwed up my back for life. Alot of everyday things are a struggle, but after being on hundreds of pain pills a month (legally) I got hooked & ended up w/ a forgery charge that was NOT taken lightly in the legal system. Now, here I am 7 years later, & after many O.D.'s, & treatments, I can say my life is incredible. I am playing music, working @ a music store, & recently got engaged to the most wonderful woman on the planet. All this because I asked God for help, made good decisions, & stuck w/ my game plan. Tomorrow night my band is playing @ a fair for a huge crowd, & I am proud to say I earned all of my music gear on my own without help from a single credit card.
Thank you all for reading this, & just remember if you believe you can, you can! God bless. - Scottcat.

Welcome! I hope you find as much support here for your recovery as I have. I'm happy to hear you're doing so well and have gotten out of the craziness that is active addiction. Thanks for sharing your story. We're happy you're here - stick around and keep posting.

You're right, life is beautiful. Thanks for sharing your story, it's always good to hear about the amazing things we can do when we stop using all of our resources to get and stay high!

Rock on, and I hope you come back to share and get support when you need it. This is a great place.

Welcome Scotty!

So glad you introduced yourself and shared a bit. I finally got out of my druged up haze and now I can say life is beautiful too!

I would love to hear more of your story if and when you feel comfortable. Congrats on the band and good luck Friday!

Hey Scott:

Welcome to the forum. I am also a musician. I play guitar, bass, keyboards and drums and I do some home recording. In fact, I am currently working on an album, and I just hired Ryo Okumoto (Natalie Cole's touring keyboard player) to play keyboards on my album. We're hoping to have the album finished by early next year. Demos are done, drums are in the can, vocals are in the can, I just have to re-record the final tracks for guitars and bass then it's off to mixing and mastering.

Sorry, I got off on a tangent there, didn't I?"

Can you tell I love music? 8)

By the way, my interest in and love for music really came ROARING back with a vengeance when I got on suboxone and I actually wrote all of the songs for the album in my fist 6 months of taking it.
