Just like exercise increases endorphins and makes us feel better, so does laughter. When I was tapering and withdrawing from Sub, I watched a lot of funny movies, hung out with funny people and read a bunch of funny websites. Now that I'm not on Sub, I still use doses of laughter to make myself feel better on a regular basis.

With that in mind, I'm starting this thread where we can post stuff that makes us laugh. I think it could become a great resource for any of us who are having a hard time, feeling down, or just needing a distraction from life for a little while.

Here are two of the funniest things I've found online in a long while:

Hyperbole and a Half is a blog written and illustrated by Allie Brosh, and I think she might just be one of the funniest people on earth. Just check out her posts "Dogs Don't Understand Basic Concepts Like Moving" or "The God of Cake" or "How a Fish Nearly Ruined My Childhood" and see if you don't agree. My friend sent me a link to this blog recently, and halfway through the first entry I was laughing so hard tears were running down my face and I could hardly breathe.

Damn You Autocorrect is freakin hilarious. Screen-shots of inadvertantly funny text messages caused by iphone's hair-trigger autocorretion. This site is great because the posts are super-short, quick and easy to read, and endlessly entertaining.

Check these two sites out, and share some of your own. Anything funny! Movies, comedians you like, websites, books, whatever. Laughter is good medicine :D

This was always one of my favorites.

It's a Gary Larson, Far Side pic. It took me a few minutes to get it!

No, that's not me in the picture. :?

(I made it through the first page of the AutoCorrect and had to quit. My eyes were watering so bad I could barely read the captions any more. First thing in the morning I'm hittin' page 2.)

DOAQ, you've got the right idea. We have to try everything & anything.
My daughter told me about the autocorrect & I must say, it is funny.
Keep the good ideas coming. Everything helps baby

Love, Queenie

Why am I always the last person to find out about awesome stores like T*** 'R' Us? But, I searched the internet all night for it and couldn't find it. I was going to send in my Resume and see if I could get a job stocking the shelves... :D

I think any list of funny things that includes movies would have to have Monty Python and the Holy Grail in the top 5. Remember the little bunny rabbit with a mean streak a mile wide?

Here is an oldie but goody - Missing Missy, from the blog 27b/6, which is a Very Funny Blog indeed. I hope you like it! I'm going to attempt inserting the whole page here, let's hope it works.

Ha Ha!

I KNEW you would like it Romeo! I was totally thinking of you when I posted it.

"She's lost in negative space."

ROFLMAO.

Hopefully some other peeps will post stuff in here too. If anyone needs help posting pictures of web pages or videos or whatever, please let me know and I will help you out.

The internet is so full of funny crap, but you have to know where to find it. I would love to see some humor sites that I haven't seen before, so let's get crackin folks!

Have you ever seen The Best Page in the Universe? Here's a link: http://maddox.xmission.com/

This guy is in your face opinionated, but some of his stuff is hysterical. You might need to read through a few different 'posts' that he makes before you warm up to him, I think my buddy at work had me read two or three of this guys articles before I caught on to his humor.

I haven't been keeping up with his latest articles because our stupid IT guys at work blocked his website?? Losers!! I simply don't have time once I am off work to screw around on the internet like I do at work!!

I LOVE the Missing Missy emails! First saw them at work and was busting up laughing at my desk. It continues to amuse me, plus the version here has some additional content that adds to the hilariousness.

So, I totally suck at posting and replying here. I can never get the smileys to work and it seems like it should be really easy to insert pages and videos and stuff but apparently I suffer from a special kind of retardation that renders me useless when it comes to that stuff.

That said, I am going to use the Youtube button to try to insert the most hilarious video I have seen in years. I watch the thing at least 5 times a day and it makes me laugh every time. I imagine a lot of you have already seen it since it has gone viral in the last week. So, here goes...

Here's another one from 27b/6 - The author tries to pay a past due account with a drawing of a spider.

I need to enlist David Thorne to help me with a few annoying bill collectors! Too effing funny!

Glad you enjoyed the video Romeo! I'm not sure why but it scratches my brain just right as far as funny goes and I can watch it multiple times in a row and just crack up out loud. (Not at work of course because, like you, the stupid IT guys at work block a lot of the good shit.) So, I am really embarrassed to admit this, but I'm not sure that I get the Gary Larson cartoon you posted back in December. For a relatively intelligent person, sometimes I am a bit dense. Would you please have pity on me and spell it out?

annabella,

HAHAHAHAHAHA, it took me a little bit to get it too!!!!

You may have to scroll down the picture to see where it says "Midvale School for the Gifted"

Then notice this genius kid is trying to PUSH the door open while the sign on the door says PULL!!!

You may not find it as hilarious I did though!!

OK, it took me 4 freakin' weeks to finally get through all of the church signs, but it was worth it!!! I made the mistake of going back to the first one and I was going to try and review them today for a laugh, Yeah, I made it up to #3 and had to give up AGAIN because I was literally crying from laughing so hard!!

Whew, what a great way to start my weekend!!

Oh Romeo (and everyone else too), I've got a new funny video for ya. It's been a while since I've run up on something funny enough to put here, but today is the lucky day!

For your viewing pleasure, The Count, from Sesame Street...unnecessasarily censored. What? Just WATCH IT. It's two minutes and you will feel better at the end.

edit: I don't know why the embedding isn't working, but here's a live link:

The Count...Censored
