Tick-tick-tick-tick, 31 minutes to go. Don't care if I'm seen leaving right on the stroke of 5 pm, almost passing out at my desk. It's official; this blows. I need sleep.

Apart from the tiredness, this has been an awesome day. I've felt a serenity and a connectedness with people that I haven't felt since I finished steps 5 - 6 - 7 about 10 weeks ago, and experienced that psychic change people keep talking about. That was while I was still on Subs, about 3 or 4 mg/day. The feeling got messed up badly during my taper thru lower doses, but it seems to be coming back.

Hope all the other jumpers are having a good day.

Spoke too soon, another no-sleep night, $#&?@!!!!! Argggggggh!!!

Took melatonin, 10 mg, tonite I'll try more.

God grant me the effing serenity, to effing accept the effing things I cannot effing change (like sleep deprivation), the courage to effing change the things I can, and a 50 caliber machine gun and a grenade launcher to deal with the effing....um, and the wisdom to know the diff.

One more try for a couple more hours of sleep, or else tomorrow will be another zombie day. Will deal with it as it comes. Facing some heavy work stress, romance stress, family stress (ill parent), but I'm still happy and calm (that reinterpreted Serenity Prayer was meant as a joke, honest!). I'll do my best, and accept things for what they are no matter how they turn out. Sobriety effing rocks.

Peace out.

JI, have you tried Trazadone for sleep? Has your dr. mentioned it? If not, you may want to talk to him/her and get a scrip called in. I've been taking 1 Traz and 1 clon and slept well 2 nights in a row. I'm sure it is helping me heal faster than I would have otherwise.

BF ("other" mother :D )

Good Morning Ji- I pulled ^^^^^^^^ from a previous post. Not sure if this is an option for you, but has really been helping me, and I KNOW how frustrating it is to not get enough "sleep" (Way way worse than not getting enough "actual" sex IMO, ha ha). The Traz used to give me a headache in the morning but not now so maybe I have adjusted to it? It is NON habit forming, and I think since i just got a 3rd good night's sleep in a row, I'll probably try tonight without it, but again it has been helping me a lot and might help you??
Hang in there...you won't die from lack of sleep (as apposed to "will most likely eventually die" from drugs) That thought helped me get through some of my most sleepy days. Sending you more NRG!!! today!!
BF

PS. Lol!! at your "reinterpreted" Serenity Prayer; that was me on days 1-2...I was SUCH an irritable little b. -lol

Argh.....sleep deprivation sucks. Have you tried a hot bath right before bed? Seemed to work wonders for my sleep. I used the melatonin chews right after, wrapped a tshirt over my eyes/head kind of tight to keep my eyes closed and it seemed to work. I also found it was extremely hard to fall asleep and I tossed and turned for a bit before passing out. Hang in there, sleep came back at the 2nd week mark.

I'm leery of Trazadone, but thnx for the suggestion. Going to try more Melatonin tonite, I think I just need to take this no sleep thing more seriously. Romeo suggested an OTC product in another thread, but can't find it.

I managed to sneak in a 10 min nap when no one else was in the office, and what an improvement. Going to try for 15 min more of Zzzzzz's on my way to my lunchtime workout, but I'm probably already good to go.

Pretty good day on the whole so far.

Managed to sneak in another 10 min snooze at work -- I perfected this technique during university: hand resting on head on my desk as if I'm concentrating, pen held upright with other hand over paper, as if I'm deep in concentration. Works every time, as long as no one is looking at me too closely.

Won't have to watch the clock then crawl out the door right at 5 pm, going to finish this workday in a walk.

Tomorrow is going to be an easy half-day working out of town, then the weekend, phew! Need to start strategizing about this sleep thing.

I think you're referring to the Unisom (the one with Doxylamine Succinate). Do NOT take the one with diphenhydramine, for many in wd, it makes RLS 1000X worse. I learned that lesson the hard way.....as I do most of my lessons. lol

We had a fellow Canadian (I'm actually Canadian too, eh) on here not too long ago and he had trouble finding Unisom with Doxylamine Succinate. If you can't find Unisom with DS, I think that same ingredient is in Robotussin and other cough meds like that. Maybe Nyquil night time formula, too? That's actually how I got turned onto DS, through Robotussin. I was taking it for a cough or cold or whatever and found I slept pretty good with it. Did a little research and found it was the DS knocking me out.

Hey JI. I forgot to mention. I use a melatonin chew every few nights. I skip nights just so my body sleeps on its own, but, I got a brand that has passion flower extract in it. You can also get passion flower tea at a health food store. It kicks ass! I tried regular melatonin tablets and they aren't nearly as effective as the pf kind!!!!!

Hey JI! Happy INDEPENDENCE DAY!!

Wow, remember our little conversation on being "free" on this day? Seemed like a nice "dream", and here we BOTH are!!!

Hope you managed to woo sleep last night. She can be a bit on the frigid side, but I'm sure you've got what it takes to win her! -lol

:D BF

Hey BF happy July 4th. It really does feel like Independence.

Sleep was a bit better last night. Hopefully I'm over the hump.

No kidding, where from? I was actually born in the USA (to CDN parents).

No dice with Unisom here. I might try DS or try Trainer's suggestion, I need to get this sleep thing sorted out by the end of the weekend. Last couple work days sucked.

Hey JI, I meant to ask, do you mind sharing your issue with Trazadone? Maybe I should also "beware"??
