That's the one of kindest thing anyone has said to me in days. Some people (or person) thinks my arm looks a little too pale, but I'm going in for the marbled, Michelangelo/David look. Glad you appreciate it, Trainer.

Hope you're having a good day.

Well, I've been hanging out with someone who happens to be a fitness instructor in her spare time, and she explained to me the best way to do sit-ups. Game on.

Then again, I do service work at a men's shelter 2 or 3 times a week, and I always seem to be there during evening snack time. Keep telling myself, no, not again, but then promptly gobble down a sandwich and a donut or two (or 3). Ouch. I'm going to say that I'm spotting you and Trainer an advantage, to make the contest more interesting.

I'll be happy to post a vid....after I win the contest, lol.

Was trying out the new techniques today, can feel those abs muscles starting to poke out already (underneath the layer of flab from the donuts).

I nailed the abs hard last night at the gym! They have those arm sling things that you hang from there and bring your knees to your chest. They are hard. I could only get 2 sets of 30 reps before I was dying!

Two sets of 30? Ouch. I do three sets of 10. Looks like I have to pick up my game.

How many people are old enough to remember Echo & The Bunnymen? Just came back from seeing there show.

My sister was a fan years ago, so I took her for her birthday (I could have taken a real girl, honest, lol). We had a lot of fun.

Nice try, lady. rofl.

My sponsee just moved from the shelter to a treatment place, so no more 7 pm donut binges for me anyways. Picture my face with a smug look on it.

I checked the thread on my phone 20 min ago, and I swear I saw a bacon picture. FYI this thread is now a 'bacon free zone.' In fact, pictures of any food that could obscure my abs is officially banned from this thread until further notice...i.e. after I win the contest.

Realized yesterday that my jump count is off by a day (I think). Thursday, June 26, was my last Subs dose, so my official 'jump day' is June 27. That will make tomorrow day 49 for me.

Like BF, I seem to be getting a tiny 'speed bump' rebound effect, e.g. I've started sneezing again, and also getting broken 5 - 6 sleeps (which are fine btw, 5 hrs was my usual sleep time most nights on Methadine/Subs. I'm waking rested.).

I can clearly remember on my last stable Subs dose (2 mg), I would wake up in the morning feeling some moderate self-centered fear, but as soon as I took my dose, it would be gone. Self-centered fear upon waking has been pretty constant since my jump, without opiates to cushion it. There are times when I 'go down into it' during morning mediation when it feels as strong as an electrical current. But lately I've been waking up with the fear gone, replaced by a subtle but welcomed sense of happiness.

This comes at a time, too, when I've been forced to re-evaluate my job, and start thinking about striking out into something new. Also facing some things that are challenging in my personal life. But without the fear, these are not sources of unhappiness, but rather things I see as opportunities for personal growth, and moving forward in life (which I didn't really do during the Methadone years/Subs months...I was pretty stuck).

Edit: Really feeling that connectedness with people, that 'spark,' that I was noticing just after I finished the steps, when I was on that 2 mg/day Subs dose. Wasn't looking for it, just woke up one morning recently, and it was back. But in a way, it's calmer now (and that's a good thing for the people around me, lol).

Right now, I effing love sobriety. Don't know what will happen tomorrow, but tomorrow will look after itself just fine.

- ji

PS: How are those abs coming, BF? I'm off to the gym in a few minutes. While you're reading this, i'll be there, doing situps.
