Hello Friends,

Tomorrow makes 10 weeks since I last stopped subs! 70 days! Doing well, better each day. Its a slow process. But I feel much much better than 5 weeks ago. I feel like I should give myself 30 more days to heal most of the way up. But I'm doing well and my energy and sleep are even coming back. It probably helps I've been eating right, lost over 40 lbs, exercising, and doing things to help improve my quality of sleep. I'm feeling very hopeful. Thank you everyone here who has supported my journey thusfar. Hope next week I have more of the same to report!

Qom that's awesome news!! It's so inspiring to hear when ppl finally start feeling better. Since it's such a lengthy process, we forget there's actually light at the end of the tunnel. Ur starting to see plenty of bright light :) and that's something to be so proud of!! Great job and very inspiring.

Thank you Michelle and Jenn. Yeah I hope things start turning around for my family too. I actually have court for my daughter this afternoon, which I am DREADING! Her advocate tries to do all she can to make this all my fault. Her initial evaluation said she has odd(oppositional defiant disorder) and depression. She was supposed to go back to therapy, but they cancelled her appt twice. Which I don't understand because I made an appt at the same place as a new patient and I've already been seen. So today is justlike a case review and she will be there. They are telling me because she is 13 her input is important. I think that is bs. She got herself where she is, why should she have much say in what happens now? Oh well. I just try to keep my mouth shut and do what they ask me.

Hey Qom, How did it go yesterday afternoon? Hope you don't mind my asking, is your daughter taking any medication for the depression or for the ODD? She is so young and sometimes the meds can cause erratic behavior. I am not making excuses for her, just trying to get a clear understanding. Talk therapy is so important especially if she is willing. They should make that a priority! Have a wonderful day!

Hi Michelle,

No she is not on any meds. She will have to participate in therapy, but she does not think she needs to change her behavior. She's saying she wants to do it, but she really will say anything to get to come home imo. I'm not convinced, we've been here before. Said what we wanted to hear and came home and started w the same crap. So were going to take it slow, next court date in September. We will see how much progress there is by then and go from there.

Hey Qom, Probably very wise on your part to take it slow. You will be able to learn how invested she is in changing the negative behavior. I wish you much luck! It must be so difficult for you, wanting her to do the right thing and loving her in spite of her "ugly" behavior. You are a very strong woman to be dealing with her and your sobriety! I do really admire you!
