I am on 20mg suboxone @ 7mo. The pain is my joints and hands is getting worse. Has anyone had this side effect? Could it be from the naloxone,

Hi Cardinal,

Welcome to the forum.

Ummm, I'm trying to remember if I've ever heard of someone on Suboxone having joint pain that is getting worse. I assume you had no joint pain when you started Suboxone? If this is the case, then I'm pretty sure I have not heard of this happening before. At least not as far as Suboxone or the Naloxone causing it anyway?

If you already had some joint pain before you even started taking suboxone, then the suboxone may not be providing enough pain relief. Suboxone is usually not thought of as a great medicine for pain control.

Either way, I'm kind of wondering if you don't have something else going on that is causing the joint pain to worsen?

I just found this link, I haven't read it, but I thought you may want to check it out. It's from this forum.

Thanks for the link Romeo, it is a catch 22 now, being on Suboxone for opiate abuse but now I have legitimate pain that Nsaid's won't relieve. Best course will be to get tested for possible onset of arthritis.

I've been on Suboxone for just a few weeks and never had joint pain before until now. I know for sure it's the suboxone. I'm only taking about 2-4mg per day too. Not the amounts you're taking.

I wouldn't freak out if you haven't had it beforehand. Just work on lowering your dosage over time, take some ibuprofen and hot baths when you can.
