I need some help. My husband is having dental implants in a few weeks. Hes been tapering of suboxone already and is down to 1/5 of a 8mg film 2xs a day. So under 4mg per day total. His suregon didn't seem to think its a problem but i don't think he knows what it is. The pharmacists said to probably just not take it for the day of surgery and to ask sub dr. Well i did and so far their response was just use novicane, no fetanyl. Well im not ok with that. He will be having all upper teeth removed (hes already missing some) and 4 posts drilled in to hold implants. A 3 hour surgery. Im very frustrated with the lack of help im getting and am turning to you guys who have had experience. I don't want him to be in pain and i also worry about him getting sick from mixing. The pharmacist was the most helpful and assured me he would be ok. I would just like any advice or words of encouragement please. Thank you

Hi Nicole,

The doctor who runs this forum has a sister website called Suboxone Talkzone. There are hundreds of articles there that answer a lot of frequently asked questions. It's a great resource!

Here is one article you should take a look at:

http://suboxonetalkzone.com/having-surg ... -suboxone/

Here is another:

http://suboxonetalkzone.com/taking-bupr ... g-surgery/

http://suboxonetalkzone.com/im-on-subox ... e-surgery/

There are other articles there. You just have to go to the menu and click on subox search.

Good luck to your husband!

Amy

OMG! This is likely one of those times where I really should just keep my mouth shut, but... It's just too funny not to! I read the headline of "Implants Surgery" and of course, being a guy, I'm thinking, okay which woman on here is getting a boob job and was bold enough to post about having to deal with pain post surgery while taking Bup. Is it Amy? Tiki? QHorseGal? Who? Oh, it's someone new named Nicole. Then I read the post. Dental implants - never mind. Pretty clear where my mind is these days. :)
