Hi there! My name is Antonia, as is my username. I have been a slave to my opiate addiction for years, and have recently completed my first week of suboxone treatment. I cried on my induction day in the office, because I felt free from the withdrawal and cravings for the first time in years. I wish that someone had encouraged me to take advantage of the medication assisted treatment long ago. I am thankful for so many things today, and I look forward to meeting everyone as time passes. I think that our host's work is very important and will support any project Jeff endeavors regarding addiction. I am pleased to be here. This is my first forum and open admission of my addiction. My personal email is antonia76@msn.com or you can send me fb friend request (Antonia S***) with sub in the subject of a message. I need support and am willing to offer the same. I live in a small beach community, Newport, on the Oregon Coast. Supportive people, I am discovering, are difficult to find. I look forward to my new sober life! Thank you, :D

Hi Antonia,

Welcome to the forum! I'm so happy you found us, and suboxone! You're right, it can be very overwhelming when you first start treatment. I wish more people had access to it.

I'm sure you will find the support you are looking for here. We have alot of really great, caring members.

Congratulations on your first week of sobriety!

Hello Antonia,
it is nice to meet you and glad you are feeling so good on your first week of suboxone.
I have also been addicted to H for many years and have taken sub for short period just for detoxing. This time around, after my last relapse, my doctor has put me on a longer course (8months, maybe more)
I also do meetings, even though I don't agree with a lot of the AA/NA program but it is a good way to get in touch with people that are also trying to kick the addiction....mind you only very few close friends know that I am on sub...most 12 steppers disapprove!
Looking forward to hear some more from you.
Luisa
