Hey, my names Dave from canada and this is my first time on this forum!
Im soo happy today I started my first day on Suboxone and let me tell you I feel amazing. I was coming from a 7 year 300 MG daily Oxycotin habit and decided to end the life of destruction. I went to the doc one day he told me to do cold turkey tried it. Went about 2 weeks relapesed. Was out of options, I was depressed and no where to go. So I was pointed in the direction to a very awesome addiction specialist and he told me about suboxone. So I waited 3 weeks till I could start and Today was the day I started and he started me with 3 2mg white tablets. An hour went by and I felt sooo relieved and happy. I hope more people find out about this miracle to help save themselves with the same problem I had. Neways Im happy to be here alive n well.

Hi Dave and welcome to the forum. Ask a ton of questions, there are many people here with great advice and if you have any problems, folks here, including Dr Junig have better advice that most of the outside docs!

glad you are feeling well.

Robin

Welcome Dave, we're glad to have ya!!

I'm a Canadian Citizen, although I live in the States and have for a long while, eh!! :lol:

Weren't you just amazed after your Suboxone started working for you?? I know I was like WHOA!!! I went from feeling like absolute hell to talking my flippin' head off to my wife all the way home from my doctor appointment. As I was talking a million miles an hour, she just had this pleasant smile on her face, the kind of smile that betrayed her thoughts of, "Finally, this dumbass husband of mine is off of pain pills and on the road to recovery." :lol:

Suboxone enabled me to overcome a 10 year addiction to copious amounts of pain pills. Because Suboxone itself is an opiate, albeit a partial agonist, it occupies our opiate receptors so we don't crave the drugs anymore. During my time on Suboxone, I worked closely with an addiction counselor to understand addiction and recovery from addiction. In my opinion, Suboxone by itself is not enough, some kind of counseling should accompany Suboxone.

Congratulations for making the decison to get on Suboxone, you certainly sound like one of the people who Suboxone was made for.

Hi dvella and welcome. Congrats on starting your sub treatment and I'm glad your induction went well. Like the others have said, I'm sure you'll find this forum very supportive and full of information. Here's hoping you stick around! Again - welcome.

Hello, Dave, and welcome to this wonderful forum.

I am new to this forum as well- a little over a month, I think.

I'm on 4 mg tablets once daily, and I have a very cool addiction
specialist doctor. I've been on Subs for almost 8 years;
and I have found it to be almost like a "miracle drug" for me.

Good luck!

-ex-
