Well im new here, and new to suboxone. I started treatment about a week ago and i have to say its helped immensely. Ive read the horror stories and the positive ones so im still up in the air about what to think. I finally gave in and wanted help when i knew i couldn't continue my opiate addiction without it spilling over into my normal life. My addiction to narco and others got very bad and i couldnt take it anymore and decided to get help. Hence my avatar "smile now, cry later "

Hi Guy and welcome. I'm 6 weeks into my recovery on suboxone and I've also read good and bad here. I have decided for me I'll take the good bad because it is alot better then where I was going.
The thing with me is I have chonic pain so I'll have to take something to function so here I am. pleased with where I'm at now. I find this is great place we can all meet and share our good days and bad days without being jugded. We are all human and we all have ups and downs. I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me with my questions and concerns.
I'm glad i'm smiling now and now crying  I love hearing everyones stories then I know I'm not alone.
See you soon,
Be Blessed
Mel

Hi Guy and welcome! Congrats for getting on sub and taking control of your life. I am glad you adjusted so well and are feeling so good. I suggest reading thru the forum, there is so much info here and so many great members. I have learned a ton from this place and it's a big part of my recovery. Hopefully it can help you too!

Hi that guy and welcome. I've been on sub treatment for almost 3 years now and am still very happy with it. I know there are many sites out there with only horror stories about sub. Avoid them! They will do nothing but freak you out and most if not all of them are a bunch of hooey anyway. If you want to address any of the specific things you heard, just let us know and we'll try to help clarify them with you.

I also wanted to congratulate you for deciding to stop the cycle of active addiction and get some help. I think you'll be pleased with your sub treatment. Keep us posted on how you're doing. Hope to see you around the forum.

Hello, that guy- and welcome to this wonderful forum!

I like your avatar: I actually have a tattoo of those masks (not EXACTLY like your avatar,
of course) on the back of my neck.

Anyway, I hope that you will be very happy with your sub treatment.
I know that I have been quite content with mine:
I've been on sub for almost 7 years, and the only slightly problematic issue
that I have ever had with it was some constipation. However, this issue was taken care of
by the ingestion of daily stool softeners and Magnesium Oxide.
(I am now on 4 mg daily of Suboxone.)

Take care,

-ex-

Hi Malaya and welcome to the forum. You posted on the end of another one so you might not get as many responses as you would if you had started a new thread.

The important thing is, you found us! This is a great place to learn all there is about Suboxone, Methadone, and any other recovery method out there. A good place to rant if you're having a bad day or a rave if all is going well.

Hope you stick around and join the group. Tell us a little about yourself and how you got here.
