O.K., now that you have had a good laugh, this is a serious post :) Does anybody have this same side effect? Many times after taking my 8mg dose, I catch myself with my jaws clenched shut very, very tightly. It seems to be an unconscious effort and not anything I can control. Reminds me of, maybe I am not supposed to say this here, when back in the day I indulged in a little Crystal and had the same thing happen.

Appreciate thoughts/advice?

I used to grit my teeth because I am a stress case, it was so bad that I was giving myself week-long headaches.

Someone (my doctor maybe?) told me that when I noticed I was clenching my jaw I should put the tip of my tongue between my front teeth. Somehow this worked, it helps keep my jaw relaxed and then when I do tense I feel it right away so I stop.

I don't know if will work if the clenching is a side-effect of a medication but maybe it's worth a try?

Hey Tim,

I believe the teeth grinding thing to be stress related too. It happened to me while I was on Suboxone and it also happens to me now, after being off of Suboxone for over 2 years now.

I grind my teeth at night though, it gets so bad that my wife wakes up, bonks me on the head and tells me to stop grinding my teeth. Some nights, I've gotten up and went to the spare bedroom to sleep and my wife says she can STILL hear me grinding my teeth. I've also woken myself by grinding my teeth!!!

I've found that if I give myself some calm time before bed, a chance to wind my mind down from the days events, my wife lets me sleep in bed through the whole night cuz I don't grind my teeth!!

Good luck and I hope you find a solution that works for you.

Tim,

I too at times grind my teeth at night so I got a mouth guard to help. But if you are doing this during the day then like everyone else said, it's stress related. Maybe learn some meditation techniques or breathing exercises so you learn how to relax.

Not sure of what else to say. But I doubt if it is related to the Sub, but what do we know? I'm not a doctor nor are most of us here.

Hope you find some relief.
