So, I call my sister in law and her husband answers. Conversation about my Sub withdrawal woes (was on it for 5 years--been off for 30+ days ) goes like this:

B-in-Law: "So, how are you?"

ME: (Moaning and groaning.) "Frustrated. I can't seem to fix this dang phone system. Not a good time for me to be playing phone tech as I am sneezing violently, have a horrible dry throat and can't sleep due to lingering insomnia combined with the fact I can't breathe at night due to being so stuffed up. Oh, and my back hurts."

B-in-law: Listen, you should be proud of yourself...you've come so far already!"

ME: "Yes, right, no turning back...no matter what. But ... I feel soooo sick.

B-in-law: "Oh, I see. So, what you're saying is that you're sick of getting well?"

In one fell swoop, B-in-law managed to make me quit feeling sorry for myself, while also summing up the withdrawal process beautifully.

I think my brother-in-law might quite possibly be a genius.

That was awesome. He makes a great point.

30+ days for you. What an accomplishment. Congratulations. Keep the fight going.
