At my pharmacy, the generic buprenorphine/ naloxone tablet were nearly 200.00 more expensive than the brand name films.
the only place I found they were cheaper was cvs, which made no difference to me because even there the generic tabs were 800 bucks for ninety tablet and the film's were 1200. however at my pharmacy, which is just a localmom and pop type place the films were costing me about 800.00, so even though cvs was cheaper on generic,I was still better off on name brand films at my local pharmacy.
I have no insurance to help with the cost of my meds so my Dr. will now be prescribing the plain buprenorphine without the naloxone. that will only cost about 220a month for ninety tabs. a huge savings for me, the difference between continuing treatment or not. I still do not understand how or why the generic tabs would be more expensive. dis anyone know why? I thought they'd save me money at first too, boy was I disappointed! glad I don't have to pay that much any more, and I really feel for those who do.

Well tbe reason is is that they Can. If the Ins co's only want to pay for generics, as with other medications though history, then why would these phar companies and yes the walgreen and the walmarts an tbe local mom an pops charge less?. The generic drug companies know they have a hot med on there hands. So, maybe someday, maybe, the price will drop. The films could drop also. Someday. We live in a supply and demained world. So in the Bupe world people do make money. Its there right to charge what they can get..Fair? Idk..Id like to see bupe in vending machines some day..never will. But we all know the need and demained is out there. .and there isnt enough drs to go around either..by 2 cents..hope it made "cents".raz 55..
