Hello,

I am an avid reader of this site and the Doctors blog and have noticed that the Doc. has referred to a Generic preparation of Suboxone (not Subutex) coming out by Teva. Is this true, or is it an oversight. At first I thought it was an oversight but he has mentioned it 2 separate times on his blog and if it is true this is great news as many Doctors still will not switch people to generic Subutex.

Hi hpChris,

I, too, had read that a Suboxone generic was approved and I passed on that information. However, I've recently been informed that the generic that Teva came/is coming out with is just another generic Subutex. In looking for answers I did some Google searching and I could not find any information about a generic Suboxone, ONLY generic Subutex.

I know this is not 100% accurate information, but I hope this helps. I do apologize for originally passing on information that I hadn't personally verified first.

No need to apologize at all. I was aware of Teva making the Subutex generic but then upon reading posts made by Dr. Junig on his blog referring to a generic Suboxone coming soon I thought he may have some info that I cant find on the net. Although I did come across some Pharmacy newsletter saying Teva and another company where supposed to launch it but the date has past.
