Good Day Folks!

I am new to the forum. I am suffering from a paralyzing opiate addiction that has been steadily trying to kill me for the past decade. I have tried a multitude of methods to arrest this condition. Treatments as diverse as hypnotism, methadone, NA, accupuncture, psychotherapy, naltrexone, Vivitrol, marijuana maintenance, etc etc have all failed miserably.

Finally, I got prescribed Suboxone 2 days ago, which I understand is like trying to fix a bullet-hole with a band-aid. I am here to educate myself and get help.

Stay sober my friends!

Hi Dopeless Hopefiend and welcome to the forum.

I am glad you are finally taking a step in the right direction. So...how is the sub working for you? Do you feel better?, any withdrawals, cravings for you doc?? I can only wish it is working as well for you as it did for me. The sub took away all my cravings for my doc and the awful withdrawals stopped almost immediately. I had a 29 year addiction in which I had done just about everything you do as an addict. The bandaid on my bullethole has worked out quite well.

Good luck to you and keep us informed of how you are doing.

Welcome! Hope that Sub is the answer for you!! I was alot you myself, 3-4 treatment centers, jails, aa, na, a shrink, even made the nut ward once! always went back to using!! Suboxone is the only thing that has worked for me so far, 2 years and going! I really wish you the best of luck, and hope it will help you as much as it has me!

Welcome~ i hope suboxone works for you. it seems you have really made efforts to get clean, I wish something would have worked sooner for you but it's good you are here. I have been on suboxone for about 2 months or so and it seems to be working well. I had issues with percocet after a car accident and i couldn't seem to taper or stop and it kept getting worse so i decided to try this. i'm trying to take it slowly and not get freaked by what i do after i'm off sub , just focus on breaking the old habits, being healthy and going from there. I learned a lot about this med reading posts ,it has been very helpful.
Goodluck to you!
