Those ads that slide in on the side of my computer screen are annoying as hell!!! I'm gonna put some black tape over the sides of my monitor so I don't have to see them anymore!!! lol

Um.. yeah. Especially since the ads that popped up on my screen are for tramadol. That's gotta be hard for the people who are on suboxone due to problems with tramadol. I would imagine.

I agree guys, they are driving me batty!

I have no idea why they started showing up, when I first opened up this morning I thought I had gotten infected with some kind of computer virus! Glad to see I'm not the only one annoyed by them...although I'm not sure there's anything we can do about it. And Tiny is right, the tramadol ad is a bit inappropriate.

Someone has to report/ ban certain ads from "infolinks". I believe it's possible, as we do it on another forum when inappropriate ads come through the ad host.

Anyway, now I'm seeing ads for the Hydro family. Definitely not cool.

I have no idea what you all are talking about. Reason being, I run Chrome as my browser and one of the apps is called Ad Blocker. Works like a charm I see!

I'm on Chrome.. I have pop up ads blocked but I'm still getting these ads. I'll look for that app.

We all just 86'd them all out of here! Viva ad blockers!

It is unsettling when the ads are for illegal drugs. One way or another we'll get to the bottom of it.

Firefox, and Ad Block Plus 2.3.2

I didn't know anything about this until I saw this thread!! You can even choose sites to allow ads (whitelist) if you want...lottsa options.

I'm definitely going to check into getting that installed on my computer after all of this is settled. In the meantime, I'm going to let it keep showing until I know our own site is free and clear of these drug ads.

Thanks for the tips guys!

At the very bottom of the side ads there is two little circles. One has an "x" in it and the other has a " ? " in it. The x will delete the ads each time they come up.

But if you click on the circle with the " ? " you will have a few options and one option is to completely delete the ads! I clicked on it and they are now all gone!

If you look above at the picture Tinydancer provided it shows those little circles at the very bottom next to the words "info links"

Worked for me anyway without any other pop-up blocker, or downloading any other app.

Just click on that question mark (?) and you will be all set! Hope this helps!

Karen xoxo

Well, it should work that way...but I tried it yesterday and they never went away for me. I think I did it like 10 times...I'm still seeing them!

I'm sorry Q. I tried it and it worked the first time for me. I did have to re-fresh the page. I'm sure you probably tried that Q, but if not maybe try re-booting your computer after making the selection to delete the ads and see if that does it if you haven'y already tried that too?

Otherwise you may have to download one of those free apps for pop-up blockers. Hope you get it working soon!
