After alot of using, a spinal fusion, the death of my older brother, and the difficult task of staying clean I finally did what I could have done in 4 years had I taken things seriously but crap happens to everyone as I'm sure you all know and it's all in the past. I just really wanted to say how much I appreciate everyone here and share that it was only through staying clean that I was able to retake classes and finish up the rest of my reqs to graduate. :)
Have a merry Christmas/ happy holidays guys! I'm probably going to be pretty busy the next few days with family so I'm not sure if I'll be able to log on real often. I wish everyone a clean and happy new years as well :)

Good for you Matt2! Congratulations on getting your degree! Who cares how long it took - you did it, and that's what counts. So far I'm two for three (youngest is only 14) of my kids getting their bachelor's degree. One of them has gone straight ahead and is close to her Master's degree. I encouraged them all along to go to school. One of the things I've said to them often is that education is one of very few things in this life that cannot be taken away from you no matter what. It's something to be proud of just for having done the work to get there.
So - again, good for you! The fact that you were able to accomplish this while on Suboxone when you weren't able to before says a lot for medication-assisted recovery. You've been able to do such positive things with your life. I'm sure you're family and friends are extremely proud!
Celebrate and enjoy the holiday season!

Good for you bro! As setmefree said, who cares how long it took, you did it!! MANY never do. I haven't, but maybe suboxone will allow me to finish what I started. My little brother is scheduled to graduate next semester with BA in Psychology. I SHOULD have had my BA in Business Management in 2005 but I am only at like 80 something credits, hoping to go back asap. Good Luck to ya and CONGRATZ!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday's!!
