My Aunt and uncle are both big into painkillers. Runs in the family i suppose. My aunt is coming off of a 75mcg patch and is starting suboxone in two days. Now the doc told her to wait 24 hours from when she takes the patch off. (she wears em transdermaly.

For some reason i read that fentanyl can store in the fat using the patch this way. I need help finding out how long it takes for all the fent to get outta her system when she takes the patch off. Something tells me it is still releasing medicine when taking the patch off. I do NOT want her to go into precipitated withdraws. I have a feeling if she did she would never touch suboxone again. She is allready hesitant to subs to begin with.

I know fentanyl has a short half life using other routes of administrations. But using it on the skin makes me think 24 hours may not be enough. Please don't tell me about the COWS scale or to just tell her to wait till she is in withdraw. I'm actually trying to found out what the elimination is of fentanyl through the skin. Any help would be awesome as i feel more qualified on subs then her doctor is. Why? Because he has never taken sub. Therefore, i know more. Simple as that. Something tells me to be very distrustful to most of these subdocs. Only thing alot of em see is money signs.
