I've been off Oxy for 21 days and Bup for a week. I was hoping that I would be feeling better by today but not even close. No sleep last night, wired for sound. I was taking between 500 and 600 mg daily when I stopped the Oxy. I still have a bottle of Bup, but want to ride out the storm. Anyone have any idea when I should turn the corner and start feeling functional? This is REALLY hard. Thanks for any input.

This is the hard part, and the most challenging part of getting off opiates in general (aside from actually staying clean once you DO turn the corner.) Time is really the only thing that heals these wounds. There are tricks to being more comfortable during acute withdrawals, but post acute withdrawals are tricky. Your brain and body need to learn how to live without opiates and that takes time. There is no way to judge how long it will take but it usually gets better, albeit gradually. Hang in there.

At least you have some extra subutex as a safety net in case you come up with any crazy ideas during this time. I hope you won't need it but it's nice to know you have it.
