Thanks, Matt. It's nice to be back.
To be honest, I found myself having more than just the occasional craving. I thought perhaps I was reading and thus thinking about the subject a bit too much. And I figured if I stepped back it couldn't hurt. But it would seem that my medical conditions and overall stress level is much more likely to be the cause. Just too many major changes lately (and not the good kind).
Anyway, you all can expect to see me around a lot more.

As I said before wonderful to have you back with us Hat, I wanted to share that I know at least for me probably the thing that has made me think about using the most is boredom. You make it sound like you've just had alot of stress and change going on lately so that may not be the case with you but just wanted to say if you haven't already you may try and find a hobby that can both relieve stress and that could occupy spare time. I started playing alot more golf since I've gotten clean and it really has helped.
Again glad to see people coming back to the forum :)

Thanks, Matt. I'm always open to what works for other people and very appreciative when it's offered. I do need to find a hobby, that's for sure. Anyway, you're so right about the boredom. I'm still finding a balance considering my disabilities and my activity level.
I was bike riding for a while, then we discovered just how bad our new neighborhood is. Now I don't go daily like I used to. And overall, this city sucks! We moved from metro Detroit to Lansing about 6 months ago. It's tiny and very conservative. I'm a tattooed, atheist, smoker, so I don't fit in so well. My husband & I are still searching for a decent place to play pool. In the meantime, I'm trying to stay involved in politics, mostly separation of church & state and pro-choice issues. On the plus side, we finally found a local atheist group that meets monthly. We're both looking forward to taking part in that.

Wow - I think that's more personal information than I've ever given on this site. My knee-jerk reaction was to deleted it, but how can I expect other people to share if I don't?

Anyway, again, I'm glad to be back.

Melissa

I'm here - almost every day! This forum is my main 'support group' at this point! Love it and love to read everyone's stories, progress, and challenges. I am into my third month on Suboxone and feel like I'm kind of coming off the "pink cloud" we hear about in recovery! I don't know about everyone else, but I need all the support I can get!
My life has undergone such dramatic changes this past year, it's not even funny! A lot of it has been very humiliating, degrading and down right ugly! There is such a lack of understanding out there regarding substance abuse. Even with all the 'celebrities' who have fallen into prescription drug abuse/opiate addiction - there still seems to be such a lack of good information about treatment options. Before I got sick, I had no idea what opiate addiction involved, how powerful an obsession it could become, how powerless it can make us. It took me way too long to find out about Suboxone. I feel I would be just that much further in my recovery if Suboxone had been made available to me from the beginning. Had I known about it before, my life would not be in near the mess it is now. Thankfully, I see hope now to turn it all around, thanks to Suboxone!
Anyway, rambling again! I'm here and will continue to be here for the foreseeable future.
Thanks to all!

Hi Setmefree,

Welcome! I know what you mean about the fog lifting and all the changes. I have probably 1-2 years filled with events, conversations, etc. that I just don't remember! I find myself apologizing to friends for not remembering big chucks of time, etc. My husband and I have learned to have a sense of humor about my drug-induced fog. I try not to take some things too seriously.
Like you, I've had so many changes in the last 10 months, during which I'm also learning who the hell I really am. I ran from so many things for so long....Well, you know what I mean.

Again, welcome. I've found this to be a "safe" and accepting place.

Melissa

I'm here too. Haven't been on in awhile though. For some reason I started getting the idea that the more I read and posted on here the more I felt like I was getting cravings back-not good! But I think its just all in my head as are a lot of my problems! Anyway, good to be here now.

Is that a true quote from hitler? I know he was a huge drug addict and never went anywhere without his peronal doctor. Basically his dealer. Sounds like something Elvis might have said too. I saw a list of Elvis's medications shortly before he died. It was insane, prob. 20 diff meds all designed to bring him up to a point and peek for a show then bring him back down to sedation. That's great if that's a real quote from hitler.
