I am from raleigh, nc and am currently on suboxone. Due to unfortunate events i no longer have health insurance. My doctor will not prescribe subutex im trying to get it because its much cheaper and i can no longer afford to be on suboxone. I have called aroynd to several sub docs none of which will prescribe me subutex even after i explain i no longer have insurance. That is why im rying to see if anyone knows of any doctors in my area who can prescribe it, im not on this forum much so im sorry if this is the wrong section.

Hi - I went ahead and moved your thread into the "Taking new patients" section. We can always do that, so don't worry if you post it in the wrong place. That's what we're here for. :)

You have one other option. When you speak to these doctors, you can ask them a second question: If they have any slots in the Patient Assistance Program open. It's through the manufacturer and each doctor gets three uninsured patients in the program and if approved, it would pay for your meds for one year. Some doctors don't even know about the program, so if they seem ignorant about it, that likely means they do have slots open, so you might want to be assertive in getting their help.

Good luck to you.
