I do not recommend using dextromethorphan aka robitussion as a rec drug but has anyone used moderate dose of dextromethorphan to reduce and help with suboxone PAWS? well my story short was on suboxone 12 mg for 5 years tapered from 12/18 to 2/6 and since 2/10 i have been experiencing WDs like hot and cold feelings tingling thru the body insomnia and it has been about 14 days now! oh the frequent urination i kno not common for most but it happens lol anyways stomach issues and just not feeling like myself. i have slipped up 3 times just 1 time per day not constantly using in a row i know i should go back on suboxone but due to insurance wise they do not allow benzo in urine and i am prescribed and DONT ABUSE xanax for anxiety. i dont have a issue getting off them but its a possibility the insurance will make me wait til i get the benzos outta my system which is more than a week!!! now there have been studies to show that dextromethorphan has helped with WDS in opiate dependent patients mainly also along with clonidine.....im not talking the rec usage that has plagued teenagers but actually using this as a legal help til i can get back on suboxone! to sum it all up does anyone have any experiences with this method and i do wanna reiterate NOT REc USAGE!

Sorry, I've never heard ANYONE say that robitussin could help with WD's at all. What do you mean by rec use? What kind of doses are you planning on trying?

I've heard that DXM cough syrup, which is sold in 4 ounce bottles only, behind the rx counter here in va, and only one at a time,& I think 2/ week could hello with WDs. I've also read it on many internet forums. I considered it, but since the pharmacy that sells it is so far away from me,I never tried it, so I dint know directly if it works. sorry I don't have mute to offer, but I have heard it helps.
