Hello Everyone!

So I am sitting here waiting to start this new "therapy" - and before I do, I thought I'd give you all a chance to chime in.

Ive been on Sub for 8 years, after a gnarly 5 year Heroin habit, and 2 year Methadone 'program'. The Sub changed my life. I am a thriving, successful person, married, with a great life.

I am on 6mg subs now and it's time. I want to be done. I'm looking to put this part of my life behind me!

I have had a hard time even getting down to 6mg from 16mg but I did it. I take 3 2mg strips per day.

SO -

My Dr., who is by all means really and truly awesome by the way, suggested a 'new' therapy - and I went for it but I havent started yet.

She suggested that I take very low dose Naltrexone, at .25 mg per day for a week, (the pills are right in front of me) then, still taking the Naltrexone every day, begin to taper down 30% of my subs every 1-2 weeks.

She thinks I will have very little to no discomfort.

I am seriously curious as to what you all may think of this. My Dr. says she has one other patient who is doing this, and successfully - but that it is kind of new.

Please - what do y'all think?

L
