Man I had to clean that one^ up enough times for it to be legible. Woke up and first thing I did was post, no coffee, brain fog from neurontin before sleep, none of the damn oxy yet. It's like I have dyslexia in the mornings (or afternoon in this case), lately, words out of order, etc. Sleep pattern has been totally whacked out, and Neurontin just made it worse insofar as sleeping a long time, but I love the sleep. The longer I sleep on Neurontin, the less oxy I take during shorter days/waking hours.

So 1 mg of sub is equivlant to 40mg of morphine.? ? That's scary. Why the hell did my doctor tell me it wasnt addictive, or abusive. I abused sub the first year i took it. Sorting the pills, taking xanax with sub. I know it eventually helped me, but my doctor was getting me high, legally. How much morphine is alot?? Is 40mg alot?? I,cant believe that

Yup, that's the general consensus in the medical community. They mean oral morphine though, which has less bioavailability then IV morphine, of course. They usually compare all opiates'/opiods', equianalgesic strengths (whether weaker or stronger) by comparing them to a 10mg oral dose of morphine, using that as a starting place since its one of the oldest opiate drugs, since chemists first started playing with opium derivatives. 50mg of Tramadol is considered to be 1/10th as strong as 10 mg of oral morphine, going the other direction.

40 mgs oral morphine at once is pretty strong for most people.

That is scary. I still remember the first time I "tried" a bit of my husbands scrip. He had 8mg tablets, and I broke off what I thought was a 'small' piece. I was about 3 years clean at the time, and never had a truly "long term" opiate addiction (alcohol, yes, but highly functioning) Five minutes later I was puking my guts out. But even that didn't stop me from "trying" it again....and again...and again until I was "hooked", and here I am, eight years later "finally" able to stop. Phew. Scary indeed.

If you can hold in a plain water enema for even a short while, its a good way to rehydrate as well, as much gets absorbed into system. Stay close to toilet as first one might blast out if you have runs as well as vomiting, but than trying again usually can be held longer after flushing out any poo stew. Add a teeny pinch of salt into bag for electrolytes, or even better, add some pediatric electrolyte formula to the water. https://www.google.com/search?q=pediatr ... es+formula

That might all seem like extreme measures, so just a suggestion, but is best way to rehydrate if vomiting, short of an IV drip. It will make you feel better and stay healthy if you've been vomiting lots of fluids. Otherwise maybe go to ER for help to stop vomiting and get hydrated.

Another healthy (although a bit unorthdox) way to help your detox (makes you feel better though!):

Ah, man, that's just wrong. It's almost lunch time here...can't we talk about something else?

Hope you're having a really good Day 12 BF.

LOL Ji! Yeah, I guess I should have written a warning above that link!
WARNING! DO NOT OPEN BEFORE LUNCH! ha ha ha!

I was sharing this info "privately" with someone, then thought "well, this has really been helping me, why DON'T I share it on a forum where I am "anonymous" if it might help others?"
I'm all about easing other's suffering if I can, and I really think this had been part of the "secret to my success" if you will. Been doing them regularly for years. Try it before you knock it! You will feel and look better, and it will ease your withdrawals. I promise.

You want to help me by suggesting that I stick a piece of rubber tube up my butt? Hmmm.

With friends like that, I don't need enemas.

I know, right??? I am a little bit better today. Have been in an intense amount of pain, and has taken everything in me to turn down pain meds. To be perfectly honest though, it this doesn't let up with the next few days, I am going to ask for something mild, such as Tramadol. But, it seems a little better today. I went to urgent care on Sunday and the doc said because I have no other symptoms besides nausea and vomiting, that I'm probably just throwing up due to chronic pain. I've just been staying on top of insurance co & docs to get this surgery going.

Other than that, I can't really differentiate what is lingering sub w/d, or just symptoms from my other health issues. I am sleeping fairly well at night though, but always with the help of meds. However, I have been barely taking anything during the day. I know the pain is more intense because I was used to having sub in my system before.

I'll post more later...

Hi Mama, glad to see you back here, though sorry that you're still in discomfort.

What day are you on now? Day 12 for me.

Well, I'm not sure exactly what day it is--I'm going to have to back through my thread and figure it out! The good news is that a surgeon was finally approved by insurance yesterday, after what seemed like years of phone calls, headache, and runaround. The pain level is still pretty rough, but am hanging in there. Hopefully this surgery won't take forever like the approval process. In regard to the sub w/d, I'm still having trouble falling asleep naturally, but started taking some natural supplements, and once I get to sleep I am able to stay asleep longer.

Thanks everyone who keep on "stopping by" and posting your well wishes! It is truly nice to see when I feel absolutely horrible!

Hey mam, glad you got the insurance situation sorted out.

I'm still having sleep trouble (day 14 for me -- aren't we on the same day??), but I'm starting to get more and more good sleep nights here and there.

Have a great day.
