well tomorrow will be 23 days at 8am...I still get chills and am tired, but it is worth it. I love music again and I read that a lot here and my old hobbies r starting to eat at me (fishing, hiking, sports, etc.)

It has been a long strange trip, but in the end I will come out stronger!

Day 38...Sweats and chills have almost gone away. I took my last dose of xanax Wed night so this will be my 3rd night without it (.25mg-.50mg at bedtime for a few years). I heard that this can be real tough and it has not been an issue so far. Anyone know when the worst should start with xanax withdrawal? I would think within 24hrs because of the short half-life.

Grass really helps with this detox 8)

I have quit subs, smoking cigs, and my xanax in the last 38 days!

I don't have a lot of experience with xanax, but I took a low dose of klonopin, which is in the same class of drugs, for years (1-2mgs up to 2xs a day) and when I stopped I didn't experience any withdrawals at all. Maybe because you've been on a low dose it won't be a problem.

Congrats on quitting Subs, xanax AND cigarettes! Keep up the good work and keep us posted. When I quit Sub, by 60 days off I felt terriffic with no lingering withdrawal effects. I hope you feel great too. Have a nice holiday!

45 days no subs and 9 days no xanax. I still get strange chills and my energy is low but nothing I can't fight through.

So I am down to just taking 10mg of lexapro a day!

Thanks for all the support and feedback!

Great job! Keep trucking along! Did you have any issues with Lexapro? I am trying to wean off. I have gained so much weight, I have been working out for a week now and no results. I was also wondering if you think that contributes to low energy or affect? I was taking 10 then 20 when I quit subs. I have been off subs now for 90 days. I am cutting the Lexapro down gradually and I am just under 10 mg now. Any suggestions would be great. I am happy for you that you got through the wds!

Well Sept 25th was 4 months off subs. Feel good, but still have ups and downs. I also stopped the lexapro and xanax about 2 months ago. Currently on no medications for the 1st time in about 6yrs! Keep STRONG and take it one day at a time.

I have to say that the sub treatment for 1 1/2 years was the only thing that kept me from getting in A LOT of trouble with my family, the law, my job, etc.
