Sounds like it was too much buperenorphine for your tolerance. Even though you tapered down, the 4 & 2mgs you took were still stacked in your system for those first 3 days. Now that you've given your system a chance to clear out, you might want to try a very small dose.. like .5 mgs. See what that does for you.. It's not uncommon for people with hydro habits to only need a small amount of suboxone.

Here's a recent thread that is very parallel to your situation:

I know exactly how you feel because the exact thing happened to me just a couple of weeks ago. Tinydancer hit it right on the nose, again. After a couple of days off suboxone I started taking it again at a dose of 0.25 and almost immediately felt better. In fact I've been taking this dose every 24 hours since and feel great. No more dizziness and no withdrawals. So I second what she said and simply try to reduce your dose. Hang in there.

The last two posts said exactly what I was going to say. I believe you would have great results on a low dose. I had a nasty habit taking oxymorphone which is one of the worst opiates out there, and fentanyl, which is probably worse. I am stable at .5mg-1mg a day. When going from something like hydrocodone to Suboxone you are going to a medication that is 10x more powerful (just a quick estimate), than the one you were taking so dosing may be a little tricky.

I also have seen some doctors who I believe, just dont understand how powerful suboxone is. Overseas they make pills that are 1/8th of a mg, so 64 pills would equal one strip. It is a very powerful and I believe that's one thing that makes dosing a little tricky; plus EVERYONE responds to it differently so you and your doctor must adjust the dosing to figure out what works best for you.

I had the same thing happen to me when I started though. I was quitting 50mg of methadone and the clinic I was going to started me on 8mg of suboxone, it made me VERY sick, I didnt know any better back then and thought I was just going threw the 'normal' process. Well I dosed for 2 more days and got more sick each day. Finally I said I cant do this anymore and quit dosing. My last dose was on Thursday morning. I FINALLY started to feel a lil better saturday night and I kept continuing to improve all day sunday until I felt GREAT by Sunday night.

I hope you can lower your dose and find some comfort and stabilize on a dose that works for you. Keep us updated and let us know what worked for you and if you have anymore questions =) Hope you get to feeling better soon!!

Your idea is outstanding the issue is one thing that not enough persons are speaking intelligently about. I am very completely satisfied that.
