Hello I'm 22 my drug of choice is heroin, I've been struggling to stay sober for years..my thing is once I stop one drug I just substitute it with another. Now I've found that I really do wanna be clean..FINALLY lol 5yrs later..but still I'm grateful to have this opportunity to really quit this poison that's ruining my life. Two weeks I got 2 suboxone they lasted me a week, I got really nervous that I would get w/d after I ran out so I searched my nightstand in my room for subutex because I used to be prescribed it, to my luck I found a pill. I felt relief it was weird..Anyway I've taken 24 mg of subs in about 2weeks and on December 3rd a Tuesday I believe was day one without any subs so my question is with only taken 24mg in total of suboxone and today December 6th is day 4 & I feel awful :( How long will the w/d last if I haven't really taken the subs for long-term? Please hel :( I'm feeling pretty hopeless...Thank you <3

Hi Kitten,

You're no so much in withdrawals from suboxone, as you are from opiates in general. You've been using them for a handful of years and are now on nothing. Your body and brain are trying to re-stabilize after years of artificial aid. There will naturally be a period of time where the adjustment will be uncomfortable.

Are you in acute withdrawals? Stomach pain, sweating, nervousness, etc? Or do you general just feel crappy and "not right"? There is no sure fire way to get off scott free, but I'm hoping you are not in major acute withdrawals. Time and taking care of yourself are the only things that help at this point.

If you are suffering from leg/ body restlessness, try taking several hot baths a day and eat some bananas. Stay hydrated and do whatever you can to take your mind off your suffering.

Good luck and please keep us posted. We're here if you need anything.

I've been clean from heroin for about 11 days so I'm thinking maybe it's a combination of that & me abruptly stopping the suboxone because I know they say to ween off but honestly that's never worked for me. Today is Day 5 & I feel worse than yesterday...I was up all night tossing & turning and I had restless legs & arms it was crazy. Today I feel sick I've been yawning & sneezing a lot, no appetite, hot & cold , & restlessness. I really hope it ends soon...I feel like I'm in hell. But thank you for shedding some light for me & giving me hope that really helps a lot :)
