Hello,

I am looking for some more interactive live 'chat' meetings online and I thought this would be a good place to find some. But Im noticing more & more sites doing away with their live chat services, stating in-person meetings are recommended. I can see how this would benefit some, however I have a pretty severe case of social phobia and such meetings can be a major trigger for me, causing more harm than good. If anyone is familiar with some legit/safe sites I would greatly appreciate any references!!!

Our chat room is not super active, so I suggest that you look up SMART Recovery online. They have virtual meetings, so it might be just what you're looking for.

It's funny how we humans seem to prefer a bit of distance when we communicate. I used to laugh at my kids for texting when it would be easier just to call, but now I also usually text instead of calling. I think the chat rooms suffer in the same way- they seem more personal, like being WITH someone instead of just sending a comment back whenever you feel like it.

All that said, it is working if anyone ever wants to use it. Maybe we could set up a dating site? That would really bring people in!
