HI,

This is my first post. I was on Suboxone for 5 plus yrs, I've since lost my health insurance and now on Methadone ( yuck) I'm trying to get my CDL license ( tractor trailor truck) and I'm wondering if anyone here knows of a Co that hired people on Suboxone

I can find the money to get back on Subsoxone until my health insurance kicks in

BTW, if you're on Suboxone, stay on it, Methadone is a nasty drug...It may keeep my sober in their since BUT? I don't feel sober

Hi Ron, and welcome to the forum!

Sorry, when you don't get a response to a question or post here it usually means no one has an answer to it. I don't either. Whether or not they test for Buprenorphine for a CDL is a question for someone with a CDL. My guess is no, they don't yet. Sooner or later every company or employer will add Bupe to their drug screen. It's only a matter of time. So if you go through all the trouble and cost of getting a CDL, it may come back and bite you later. I sure hope I'm wrong on this one.

On the other hand, many people get tired and/or drowsy when taking Suboxone. Do we really want them driving tractor trailers on the road? I know that only some do and you may not. Once again I'm guessing that they (government) will error on the side of caution and deny anyone on opiate replacement therapy (ORT) the right to drive a big rig. Hell, they may even go so far as banning all of us from driving in the future! Okay, now I'm scaring myself!

It's a 50/50 chance. Are you willing to take that chance? If so, go for it.
