Hi Everyone!

First of all I just want to say how happy I am to have found this forum. I'm a 39 year old single woman and I'm here because I've battled with opiates since I had some surgery done and I've been able to keep clean from them by buying Subutex off the street for a while now. I have tried suboxone but it makes me sick and gives me terrible stomach cramps, headaches, nausea and hives. I also can't breathe very well when I take it. my body reacts quite violently from it. So I'm im seeing a therapist and really trying my best to get into a program but I'm having a lot of trouble even finding a DR who will prescribe Subutex at all. It's all about the money. I'm new to the area here as well and well, my dealer would much rather that I didn't know where to go. So I'm going to ask the rest of the Sub community here for some help. I need to find a Dr who isn't afraid to prescribe Subutex. I know that many people around where I live are getting them and they are not pregnant. Many people have reactions to suboxone so it's not all that uncommon. The only people that are being helped here are the dealers keeping it from the legitimate people who really need it. Anyone who knows where to point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. I'm tired of giving every penny of my money to some guy who's cheating the system meanwhile I can't get into see a Dr because of him. I live near PA in MD near DC. Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

try going to these two websites,

www.suboxone.com
and click on "find a doctor"

or
www.naabt.org
and click on "patient needing treatment"

This second link, maybe your best bet, because you create a profile, and what you NEED, and/or have as far as insurance goes, and it's a great way to explain why you need the generic.
Anyway,,,, then a dr.s office contacts YOU that's willing to help.

don't get discouraged if it doesn't happen quickly, or doesn't come easily....

you are worth fighting for, your life is worth it, too... Keep trying, print the list of dr.'s within a hundred miles or so, and CALL EVERY SINGLE ONE, if you have to. if they say they cannot help you, ASK IF they know any other dr. in the area that CAN HELP.

just don't give up.

good luck
and happy new year.
I hope you're able to turn this around.

I am having the same issue. I have been clean for 2 years now using buprenorphine. I started out on Suboxone and I kept a horrible headache/migraine that would sometimes interfere with my daily routine. I am also a cash pay for everything because of no insurance. So my doctor prescribed me Subutex for over a year. He was a great physician and very understanding. He recently got diagnosed with cancer and as it progressed, I saw him less and less. Now the office has gotten a new physician and she has been pushing me to go back to Suboxone for a while now. At first, the money situation was my argument and it worked. Now I have seen her 3 times, and the last, she refused to give me anymore subutex. She found a website that gives a discount on the generic buprenorphine/naloxone and that is what she gave me. It is still at least $5 more per pill and that is if I could ever buy a quantity of 30 or more. I explained to her that I usually go and get 3 or 6 at a time which is $6-$12 for me with the Subutex. With the generic and the coupon, it will be $18.50 for 3 tablets. This is ridiculous. I don't know what I am going to do. I tried explaining to her that with a prescription that I can't afford is useless. She didn't care. I wish my old doctor would come back. I am looking for another place in Kentucky. If ANYONE knows of a doctor in KY that will write subutex, please let me know. I have been going to this same place for 2 years and never relapsed or had a dirty urine screening. Why does this not matter to them?!

I too am in ky. I'm not sure if we are allowed to give specific names so someone tell me if I'm breaking any rules. I go to the Interventional Pain Specialists in bowling green ky. I am going to ask next week to be switched to Subutex since my insurance will no longer cover suboxone. I will let you know how it goes. Are you near bowling green??

You are definitely allowed to share information about your subutex/suboxone provider on this forum. :)

I got these headaches as well, come to find out, the subs we're causing sinus pressure and neck tension. Didn't feel like normal pressure and I had no congestion or issues with air restriction, but a little sinus medicine and a mild muscle relaxer and the severe headaches would go away. Just interesting about you having severe headaches as well.

(sry, didn't mean ti hijack the thread)

OP: Don't feel alone. I have been looking for a few weeks now and have resorted to calling doctors in neighboring cities. If i am lucky and kind find one there, i will drive an hour each way for treatment and that's if I'm lucky. Keep your head up and stay positive. I know it's easier said than done, but it's worth it. You're worth it. Your life is worth it. You'll find someone. Sad to say keep trying places you've just tried. Reason being, as we all know the battle to stay sober is a hard one. There is someone in one of those programs that is relapsing right now and will not be there for his/her next appointment. Then, there will be a vacancy. Do the doctors you're calling have a waiting list? I am currently on 7 waiting lists and waiting for a spot to open up myself.
