Should I exercise? Or would it be wasting my time like a water-shot? :D

Seriously. I love going to the gym, but have never really bothered while on suboxone. I loved going to the gym when I was opiate free and loved that warm fuzzy smile on my face when I walked out.

Do you get that endorphin buzz when you're on suboxone?

Hey tearjerker,

I have no idea if while on sub exercise still releases endorphins, but it very well might. Plus as everyone says, exercise is so very beneficial in many different ways, it's probably worth it for you to go back to the gym. Especially since you enjoyed it so much. I know I should exercise way more than I do. Good luck!

I started going to the gym right after I got on Suboxone. I definitely felt that endorphin buzz that comes from exercise, even when I was on a higher dose (12mgs). I would take a dance or a yoga class or just run on the elliptical and I felt great.

Later, when I was tapering, exercise was the thing that really got me through it. I say go for it!

Yes, the endorphin rush while exercising came back when I got down to 2mg per day, felt good... But it was absent while I was dosing over 2mg... Mike

Oh yeah, RIGHT on!

That some question was bothering me as well. First of all, you got your receptor sensitization and whatever, then there's hypoanalgesia, and finally the blocking effect of the Bupe.

For folks like me - MAJOR bummer. Major.

But guess what - you DO get it back. All you have to do is practice :)) Practice makes perfect. You can actually re-train your opioid receptors to be good little opioid receptors all over again. Just get out there and make them work.

Tapering down to <=4mg couldn't hurt either.
Sports, nature, all that crap. Don't really care for that one, though.

S&M sessions anyone? ;)
