Suboxone helps pain. But does it do anything for fever?

Without going into a lot of detail, I've been sick and no one knows what exactly is wrong with me. I've been asked by, well, everyone I've talked to about this if I've been running a fever. I don't really run fevers anyway as a rule. And I've had my temperature taken at home and by my doctor. No fever. None that showed up on a thermometer anyway. Yet I'm shivering all the time this past week. It's 9,000 degrees outside and I'm freezing!

I wonder if Suboxone could be masking a fever. I'm taking 12 mg. a day, once a day, in the morning.

Thanks,

Calliope

Funny you should mention it I've only had one time I can remember when I've been on Sub that I've run a fever and I've unfortunately been one to get sick quite often, especially when I was a bit younger. There has been a time or two that I've felt achy and had some chills that I wasn't running a temp I thought it did seem odd at the time maybe there's something to it?

I have had chills without a fever 2 times. Both times I had a serious infection, once kindney and the other appendicitis. Both times they might have missed it except my white-cell count was elevated.

During the kidney infection, the doctor said the chills were caused by toxins released from the bacteria. Another reason for chills is your body is trying to create a fever to fight an infection - the shaking helps raise your body temperture.

If you went to the doctor, did they take a blood sample? Chills can be symptomatic of a bunch of other things as well. I'd definitely follow up again with the doc if you're not feeling better.
