So, here we have a new section of the forum where the discussion will NOT be moderated.

My question is this - Can I participate in these discussions? I want to...but I know that big MODERATOR thing by my name might be a turn off or put a damper on discussion.

For a long time there have been complaints that certain topics of discussion are frowned on around here and that some members don't feel safe or comfortable posting their experiences. I want that to change. So if my participation in Freestyle will cause people to feel like they can't speak freely then I will abstain.

Let me know what you think.

Hi Diary! I would personally LOVE to see you guys participate! I think you guys are getting a bad rap for absolutely no reason! You are recovering addicts just like the rest of us. You also have opinions of your own, just like the rest of us. Just because you are moderators, you should not be excluded from being able to share that opinion free from judgement....
That's not to say that some people wont judge anyway, that's just their nature.

Thanks you so much for all of your hard work on this forum. This place is a huge part of my recovery, and if you guys weren't around to keep things "fair", a place like this could crumble. So, I just wanted to let you know that I do appreciate all of your hard unpaid work!

And please...come play with us. If people dont like it, they can take their toys, and go home! LOL

Hey Dairy Queen!!

I think it would be a great idea for you to play!!! But, be ready for people to disagree with you. If you can play without getting your feelings hurt, than have at it!!!

I think this section is a good idea, however, I'm pretty sure it's gonna go to hell in a hand basket because of what I said above.

Holy Shit, I just spoke my mind without worrying about it!!! Woo-Hoo!!!

Why do you think it will go to hell in a handbasket?

I think I can handle myself. I try not to post when I'm butthurt - I find things go better that way.

I also have an old account from before I was a mod, one that I lost the password to. I could reactivate it and use that screen name if my moderator tag makes people uncomfortable. One thing that I don't like about my mod tag is that it gives this offical weight to everything I post...and sometimes I just want to post as me.

I am pretty new to this forum, but if my opinion counts for anything, i say post away. I have had a few issues and question that i have posted about and the moderators have been the main ones answering and helping me out. ( Not to take away from the others you have posted for me) The moderators have as much right to post their opions and beliefs as anyone else. So vent away.

That I can agree with. As long as you remain within reasonable limits you should be able to say what you want.
